Chatting to The Sunday Telegraph’s Confidential, Heath’s sister, Kate Ledger has opened up about her niece and praised Matilda’s mother, Michelle William’s hand-on parenting style.
“
Michelle really does keep things real for her. And her existence, although different from most, is as normal as possible in an abnormal world,” Kate said.
Matilda was only two-years-old when her father passed away back in 2008 but Heath’s family are making sure his daughter will never forget her father..
“‘I love telling [Matilda] stories about her daddy and how he grew up,” Kate shared.
“I think it’s so important for her to have a good sense of where she comes from in order for her to get to know herself.”
Despite losing him at such a tender age, it looks like Matilda takes after her famous dad.
“She’s got his energy,” Heath’s father, Kim Ledger recently told Channel Ten’s The Project.
“Heath never slept from when he was two and Matilda’s like that. She’s just got this ball of energy and she radiates this little aura. Heath was kind of like that. So it’s fabulous really.”..”
Michelle also sees a lot of Heath shining through their little girl.
“Every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at her,” the critically-acclaimed- actress told Vogue back in 2013.
