It seems crazy that it’s been 25 years since the singing Hanson brothers first captured our tween hearts – but they’re still ridiculously good-looking and singing in perfect harmony together!
Even better, the band, most famous for the 1997 hit MMMBop, are celebrating a quarter century in the music biz by launching a world tour, and they’re heading to Australia and NZ this August.
Taylor, 34, explains, “Making music together for 25 years is a milestone that we had to acknowledge, and what better way to do it than with an anniversary tour.”
“This year is not only about the two decades of music,” he added.“It’s about celebrating the incredible community of fans who have been with us, singing along year after year.”
The band – which also includes Isaac, 36, and , Zac, 31, who was just 11 years old when their biggest hit was in the charts – are also releasing a compilation album, Middle Of Everywhere, of their greatest hits later this year. And we can’t wait to get our hands on it!
MMMBop was a massive success for the band reaching number one in 27 countries and getting two Grammy nominations. But even though singers like Katy Perry have attempted their versions of the catchy song, they reckon no-one’s managed as good a job as them – for now.
“If Bruno Mars were interested, he’d probably find a way to kill it,” suggests Isaac.
And despite their early brush with fame thanks to the song’s crazy success, the Hanson brothers seem to have successful escaped the child star curse. All three of the brothers settled down and married in their early twenties and now have eleven children between them!
That’s almost enough to start three more Hanson bands. Just sayin’.
