Last year, the mother-of-two found herself in the middle of a storm after she announced her split from her husband of 12 years, Chris Martin, via her website using the term “consciously uncoupling.”

The odd phrase hit a chord with fans and galvanized even more attention on top of her already shocking divorce news.

“When I announced that I was separating on the website, [Editorial Director] Elise Loehnen titled the piece Conscious Uncoupling and I had no idea,” the 42-year-old revealed.

Often, ideas featured on Goop go viral for all the wrong reasons, but Gwyneth sees the positive side, “When something like that happens, I think everybody is like, ‘Oh, s***.’ I just tell them [her team of 25] that I think we are creating interesting discussions.”

Despite the criticism, Gwyn stands by her controversial website and even the stuff about vaginal steaming, “This is a thousands-of-years-old practice in Korean spas,” the blonde beauty told the publication.

Gwyneth earlier this year at the #blogher15 conference.

Elise, who was also part of the interview, added: “It feels good, it’s not harmful, it’s not like we’re urging people to go out and buy AK-47s.”

And just to clarify, the Iron Man star is totally fine if you hate her website: “I always like it when there’s a big response to something because it tells me, ‘Oh we’ve touched a nerve here, this is really interesting.’”

The actress “There are a lot of media companies that would die to have the kind of response that we get from our content.”

Goop’s CEO Lisa Gersh chimed in on the interview and put to bed any talk of their unrelatable content by stating, “Love us or hate us, you want to know what we think.”
