The crรจme de la crรจme of the small screen were out in full force at the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Leading the glamour were the beautiful ladies of Big Little Lies, who collectively stunned as they took to the stage.

Elisabeth Moss, who won Best Actress in a drama series, used the red carpet for activism, wearing a prominent ACLU blue ribbon on her clutch. The non-profit organisation takes on the toughest civil liberties cases, including full equality for LGBT people and preserving the right to have an abortion, in order to defend all Americans from government abuse and overreach. The ribbon is particularly fitting for the role sheโ€™s being recognised for.

Of course there were a lot of comedians there and therefore a lot of humourous moments during the proceedings. Alec Baldwin winning an Emmy for his portrayal of Donald Trump and the weird moment former Press Secretary Sean Spicer was wheeled onstage were definite highlights. (Melissa McCarthyโ€™s face was PRICELESS!)
