Belinda Love passed away in Melbourne on Saturday after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 60 years old.
A devastated Georgia broke the news with a heartbreaking post on Instagram.
“My heart is utterly broken. 7 weeks ago we were sipping cocktails in Italy. 7 months ago you weren’t even sick. How is it possible you’re no longer here?” Georgia penned.
“Mum, you were my first friend and my best friend, my rock, the one who knew me better than anyone in the world and who supported and backed me through every single thing I did. You were the one I went to for advice, the one I shared every story with and the one who was always there to pick me up.”
“There is so much more I need and want to share with you. I have no idea how to even begin to say goodbye. I love you, Mum, and will continue to every single day.”
“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever,” Georgia’s beautiful tribute concluded.
This week, Georgia’s new boyfriend Lee Elliott revealed he was finally able to meet Belinda. “It meant a lot to me to be there, and I could see how much it meant to Georgia,” Lee told Woman’s Day.
“I feel so blessed. I wish our meeting had been in different circumstances, but that first moment was something that will stay with me forever.”

And even in the toughest of times, Lee said Belinda managed to find humour.
“There was one moment when she looked at me and said ‘I didn’t think Georgia would pick you,’ and I was like, ‘this is awkward! But then she said ‘No, no, only because you were never my favourite and Georgia never picks my favourite,” Lee said.
At the start of the show, Georgia said she was looking for a love as solid as her parents’ relationship, which spans over 30 years.
Our thoughts are with the Love family, including Georgia, her sister Katie and father Christopher, at this difficult time.
