Emma Freedman is set to make a triumphant return to the airwaves as she is announced as the co-host of the Today Hit Network’s new national radio show alongside Jules Lund!
The Today radio network has today confirmed a new national show to air from Monday featuring Jules Lund and former Nine network favourite Emma Freedman at the helm.
Emma is thrilled about her new gig, saying: “Moving into radio is really exciting. I guess working with my mate Jules should be OK too! Honestly though, we’re both full of energy and can’t wait to get this show on the air”
Many fans were left disappointed after the beloved weather presenter was abruptly cut from Nine’s Weekend Today and Today shows in December last year.
It’s believed that Emma, 26, was the victim of budget cuts at Nine but the news still came as a shock after she had spent five years at the network and with a growing public profile seemed a have a promising future career ahead of her there.
It seems though that it may have been a blessing in disguise now that Emma is set to co-host a nationally-broadcast radio show, heard across 31 stations across the country.
Titled “The Scoopla Show,” the brand new program will air every weeknight from 6pm, with Today reporting that it will focus on the world of entertainment and pop culture as the pair take a fun look at the day’s top stories in showbiz.
Seasoned radio presenter Jules Lund, 35, is said to be excited about the new program too, as he already goes way back with his new co-host.
Jules said: “Em’s one of the sharpest, most dynamic broadcasters in the country. We’ve been great mates for years. I couldn’t be happier.”
Head of Today’s Hit Network Dave Cameron said, “Emma Freedman is an absolute knock-out new talent for radio, and combined with Jules Lund’s experience and passion for radio and social media this new daily show will continue to establish Today’s Hit Network.”
The Scoopla Show with Jules Lund and Emma Freedman will kick off Monday, February 2 from 6pm on Today’s Hit Network.
