Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew has wed her long-term partner Neil Varcoe in a beautiful and intimate ceremony on their farm near Mudgee in rural NSW.
Edwina and Neil said “I will” in front of 160 family and friends earlier today at Warramba, the 100-acre farm in the Capertee Valley the newly weds purchased two years ago. They have been renovating the sandstone cottage and surrounding grounds in preparation for today’s momentous event.
In a sentimental family touch, Edwina’ wore a wedding dress that has been worn by three generations of her family, including her much-loved grandmother who was married in 1944. The veil was also a family heirloom, given to her great grandmother by her sister for her wedding in 1915. The dress was restored by Melbourne designer, Sonia Cappellazzo.
It was a lunchtime wedding and the reception is expected to carry in into the night. All the food and wine has been sourced locally and in a sweet touch guests will all take home honey from Edwina and Neil’s farm. Sixty wedding guests will camp on the property tonight.
The wedding has been completely organised by the Edwina and her digital executive husband, with a friend making the cake and other friends and family helping in the set-up. Many of the Sunrise team are there enjoying the festivities.
“It’s so wonderful to be able to share our wedding photos with all of our wonderful Sunrise viewers,” Edwina says. “Everyone has been so kind since we announced our engagement last April. We have felt very loved.”
Congratulations Edwina and Neil!
