TV vet Dr Chris Brown’s blossoming relationship with fellow Network Ten host Liv Phyland has been a reluctant point of conversation for the private star.
But at Chris’ 41st birthday bash last week, the two couldn’t hide their affection, prompting speculation the event was a double celebration, with the couple sharing some exciting engagement news with their closest friends.
“Their chemistry is undeniable, they are obviously one very happy couple,” an eagle-eyed onlooker tells Woman’s Day.
The party, attended by several of Chris’ TV co-stars including The Living Room‘s Amanda Keller and Miguel Maestre as well as The Project‘s Hamish Macdonald and Carrie Bickmore, was held at Sydney’s Clovelly Hotel – and the guests all appeared delighted for the former Bondi Vet and Liv, 29.
“Amanda (Keller) was clearly very approving,” adds the bystander. “She gave the couple a big hug.”
It wouldn’t come as a surprise if Chris had already popped the question to his girlfriend of 10 months. The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! host previously admitted he was “horrified” to still be single and childless.
“I don’t want to be this person with a history of short- to medium-term relationships,” he said. “If you’d told me at 20 I’d be unmarried and without kids, I would’ve been horrified. I’ve probably prioritised work more than I probably should have”.
Chris and Liv have been romantically linked since late last year when they holidayed together on the NSW Central Coast.
However, they’ve known each other for years, moving in the same social circles in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and both working at Ten.
