It seems that Courteney Cox and her rocker fiancé Johnny McDaid may have eloped and tied the knot in secret after they were spotted out and about in New York with Johnny wearing a large ring.
Former Friends star Courteney, 50 and Snow Patrol rocker Johnny, 38, looked more loved up than ever as they affectionately held hands and put their arms around one another on their morning stroll. It was the big ring on Johnny’s left hand that caught everyone’s attention though, as it seemed it may be a wedding band.
Johnny proposed to Courteney in June, and speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Courts recalled the supercute story of how he first asked for permission from her daughter Coco.
“Johnny first asked Coco. He said, ‘I’d like to marry your mom,’ and gave her a little diamond ring. She said, ‘Great, I’m going to camp tomorrow. Let’s do it right now.’
“So, they decided they wanted to do it that night because we were leaving for Turks and Caicos and she was going to camp.
“We went to Jen’s house for dinner because it was Coco’s birthday and she was godmom.
“They made a plan to count down from three and when they got to one, he was gonna get down on his knee and say, ‘Will you marry me?’ and she was gonna say, ‘Will you marry him?’ They planned it out. They found the perfect tree that branches that led to one trunk. It was just beautiful.”
It was previously believed that the pair were planning to wed in August so it wouldn’t be entirely surprising if they had gone ahead and gotten hitched already.
In July they were seen visiting Johnny’s hometown in Northern Ireland where it was believed that they were scouting wedding venues.
The pair got engaged after what seems to be a whirlwind romance of just over seven months. They were first spotted together as a couple in November last year at a party thrown by Courteney’s pal Jennifer Aniston.
Courteney and Johnny were first introduced by mutual pal, musician Ed Sheeran. He told OMG! Insider earlier this year: “I wasn’t allowed to talk about this, actually, but it’s just gone public, so… My housemate (Johnny) who I’ve lived with for a year, I introduced him to Courteney Cox. They started dating and are crazy about each other.”
It will be the second marriage for Courtney, who finalised her divorce from David Arquette last year after 13 years of marriage.
