Despite growing up in the spotlight, first playing Nina Tucker on Neighbours at just 17-years-old, and then becoming an international music artist who stormed the charts, Delta Goodrem is notoriously private.
When it comes to her love life, The Voice Australia coach’s secrecy is only heightened.
Yet, in an interview with HELLO! Magazine, Delta has given a brief insight into her relationship with musician Matthew Copley.
The couple first began dating in 2018 having been spotted and photographed kissing in Hawaii but it wasn’t until early 2019 that they went “Instagram official”.
This year we’ve seen a lot more of Matt in Delta’s social media posts as the musicians worked together to create weekly live gigs during COVID, dubbed The Bunkerdown Sessions.
“We have a lot of love and respect for each other and we are a great team,” the 36-year-old told HELLO!
“I’m somebody who loves to go deeper I’m all about long-term friendships and relationships, and I love those people with all my heart.
“When Matt and I work together, it’s really easy to go straight to the core of our feelings because we’re living and breathing life together all the time. It’s wonderful to work with him.”
Aside from working on her weekly live stream sessions with Matt, Delta also shocked fans with a surprise release of her Christmas album *Only Santa Knows*, that stars another big name – Olivia Newton-John.
Delta famously played ONJ in 2018 miniseries Hopelessly Devoted To You which told the story of her life, and is someone the singer has long-admired and been close to.
“Olivia has been a kindred spirit and a mentor to me my whole life.”
She revealed, before also discussing Olivia appearing on her Christmas album, too.
“She sounds so beautiful on the records.”
Delta also touched on her famous ties thanks to her time on The Voice. While there’s no confirmation of who will be sitting in the big red chairs in 2021 as the show moves to Channel Seven, Delta reflected on her time on the show.
“I’ve learnt something from every single coach,” she says not just of recent co-stars Kelly Rowland, Boy George and Guy Sebastian but also past stars such as Keith Urban, Seal, Joe Jonas and Ricky Martin.
“Every year I ask myself what I want next. I need to make sure I’m evolving as an artist.”
