Former TV matchmaker Debbie Newsome laughs at the “expert advice” she gave her daughter’s fiance Sam just moments after watching him propose to Tara in a heart-melting moment on Bachelor In Paradise.
“Make sure the bedroom is always happy… and don’t have too many headaches,” cautioned Deb, who says she has no doubt Sam really is Tara’s “perfect match” – and admits she fell in love with him even before Tara did.
“When she first saw him, Tara didn’t like him at all, but I did! I would’ve picked Sam straight away. He’s just such a sweetheart. He’s kind, funny… They are so in love.”
Deb, 57, appeared in the Bond classic For Your Eyes Only with Roger Moore, and became a household name in the 1980s as the hostess of Perfect Match, the TV dating show hosted by Greg Evans.
And fans are hoping Deb may make a TV comeback, with speculation Tara and Sam are in talks about their own spin-off reality show, showcasing their wedding and honeymoon. “I don’t want to do it – everyone would find out we’re all completely mad,” she jokes.
