Over the past few months, Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky have been plagued by rumours about their marriage.
Now friends say their problems are all behind them – and they’re expecting their fourth child!

Listen to the latest episode of the Woman’s Day Uncensored podcast, where the panel exclusively reveal Barnaby Joyce’s ex-wife Natalie’s side of the story, they also chat to the Lucky Lotto man, a multi-time lottery winner, and to wrap up, they reveal Princess Mary is set to become the Queen of Denmark imminently.
“Elsa told close friends and family her happy news last week,” reveals an insider.
“She said it was a ‘complete shock.'”
“While she and Chris have spoken about having a fourth child, with Elsa turning 42 in July and both being so busy with work, they put it on the backburner and agreed that if it happened, it happened, but they wouldn’t be actively trying.
“Elsa started to feel some of the early signs of pregnancy, including nausea, a couple of weeks ago and a test confirmed she was indeed expecting.
“Chris was ecstatic with the news. They initially promised to keep it just between them, but it wasn’t long before they started spilling it to their loved ones.”
Chris and Elsa – parents to India, six, and four-year-old twin boys Sasha and Tristan – couldn’t contain their excitement when they had coffee with Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso last week in Byron Bay.
And the loved-up duo could barely keep their hands off each other.
They also enjoyed a romantic break days earlier, with Elsa posting a snap captioned, “Weekend getaway with this handsome man!”
The pregnancy news couldn’t have come at a better time for the pair. In April, things were fraught when Chris was spotted looking worse for wear after a big weekend in Vancouver, Canada, where he was filming Bad Times At The El Royale.
A few months before, a source revealed, “Chris is so in demand, it gets really hard for Elsa.”
But now their relationship is firmly back on track, and they’re thrilled about the new addition.
“Elsa’s due in early January and she’s vowed to take a good chunk of time off work, so she can really enjoy the newborn stage,” says our source.
“Especially as both she and Chris have agreed they’ll take measures to ensure there are no more surprises!”
