Don’t you hate it when you finally go public with your new man and then his scandalous past is dug up?
That was the reality for MAFS star Cheryl Maitland this week after it was revealed her boyfriend, Dean Gibbs, is a former police officer who has been convicted of drug trafficking.
Well, now the lovebirds have a firm message for their naysayers.
On Wednesday, the hairdresser uploaded a very pointed statement to her Instagram story, which read: “I think it needs to be said that everyone is their own person and can do as they please and if it has no direct impact on your life then shut the f— up and keep your opinions to yourself.”
Plumber Dean took a softer approach, sharing a sweet selfie with Chez and the heartfelt caption: “The couples that are meant to be, are the ones that go through everything that is meant to tear them apart, and come out even stronger…. This girl.”
Gosh, what a bloody cutie!
25-year-old Cheryl was equally touched by the note and commented under the snap, “Can you stop being saaaa cute ❤ actually don’t stop.”
Earlier in the week, the MAFS favourite confirmed she was dating the Melbourne local with a loved-up Insta post of the pair kissing.
After being matched with groom number one, Jonathan, the pair parted ways after he was caught texting co-star Scarlett.
The hairdresser re-entered the competition with jilted groom Andrew “Jonesy” Jones but they too struggled to find a harmonious bond and eventually split.
The cast of the addictive reality show will finally be brought back together this Sunday for the explosive reunion episode and we seriously can’t wait.
