Charlize Theron has spoken about the time she invited President Obama to a strip club, after she was so nervous to speak to him she had “verbal diarrhoea”
On Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, the Mad Max: Fury Road star told Jimmy and the audience about the awkward moment which occurred when the President invited Theron to his dressing room to chat as the pair were both backstage at the talk show.
“I have this thing that happens when I get nervous, that I get so nervous that I will say something really inappropriate,” said the 39-year-old.
“It’s like verbal diarrhoea.”
As Obama explained why he felt grateful to be invited onto the show and reach a different demographic Theron buckled under the pressure.
“There was this pause, and I didn’t know what to say, and all I could come up with was, ‘Well, if you’re looking for a different demographic, I can take you to a strip club,’” says the actress, laughing.
“He was so gracious and funny. He could tell that I was really nervous and he was nothing but lovely. And then I couldn’t sleep for like four weeks, because every time I closed my eyes I went, ‘Oh my God, I said that! Oh my God, why did I say that!’”
