They might be some of the most famous faces on Australian TV but behind-the-scenes, they’re proudest job is that of being a mum!
And this week, the ladies of Channel Seven took time out of their busy schedule for an early Mother’s Day celebration.
Leading the glamour was Sunrise star Natalie Barr, Sunrise entertainment reporter Edwina Bartholomew, Morning Show host Kylie Gillies and radio host and former Sunrise anchor Melissa Doyle, who all rubbed shoulders at the VIP event, which was held at OTTO Ristorante in Sydney on Wednesday May 28.
Taking to Instagram to share a snap from the event, which was hosted by jewellery brand Fairfax and Roberts, Nat Barr mused: “Mums day out! We came, we ate and drank, we laughed, we wore their jewels! @fairfaxandroberts know how to make a girl happy! #out #mothersday #jewellery #mumsgowild @ottoristorante @fairfaxandrobertshome.”
The mums go wild hashtag was clearly an inside joke between the women who perhaps didn’t get as loose in reality.
Kylie Gillies joked in the comments, “Mums gone not-so-wild 💞.”
Channel 10 star and Project host Lisa Wilkinson showed her support for the girls by sharing the comment, “Now that’s a great bunch of gals. Xx.”
A Current Affair Saturday host Deborah Knight also chimed in with a sweet comment: “Girl Squad!!.”
Fans expressed their delight in the comment’s section too, and many mentioned how happy they are that the women get along with each other off the screen.
“Oh my 4 of the nicest & loveliest women on T.V 🙌❤️,” said one fan and another posted, “Lovely to see the 4 of you together 🙌.”
“Wow 4 of the Greatest reporters ever. # Respect where Respect is due,” shared a fan.
Melissa Doyle and Natalie Barr used to work together for years on Sunrise until Melissa left the show in 2013.
So, it wasn’t surprising that their fans were thrilled to see them spending time together years later.
“I love that you and Mel are still friends after all these years. ❤️❤️ this made my day,” gushed a supporter.
