It’s often considered the Jewish Nobel Prize and this year Michael Douglas was the recipient of the Genesis Award at a ceremony in Israel.
For the occasion the actor brought along his epically beautiful wife Catherine and their look-a-like Kids, Carys, 12 and Dylan, 14.
The doting mum-of-two shared a snap of the good-looking brood on her Facebook page writing, “so proud of Michael for being honored with The Genesis Prize.”
Before adding: “We’re having an amazing family vacation! Happy Summer Everyone!”
Comedian Jay Leno was on hand to host the 2nd annual Genesis awards, while the Israeli Prime Minister presented the trophy to the Behind the Candelabra star and the whopping $2 million prize money.
In his acceptance speech the dad-of-three vowed to donate all the funds to the Israeli and Jewish communities so they can “find ways to better understand each other and to grow together.”
The 70-year-old has been vocal about the perception of Jewish communities, writing an op-ed in The Los Angeles Times about his son’s experience with discrimination.
“I sat down with my son and said: ‘Dylan, you just had your first taste of anti-Semitism,” before adding: “Anti-Semitism, I’ve seen, is like a disease that goes dormant, flaring up with the next political trigger…It’s a lesson that I wish I didn’t have to teach him, a lesson I hope he will never have to teach his children.”
Congratulations Mr Douglas, on your award and incredible family!
