After months of travelling around Europe with her family, Carrie Bickmore is embracing the end of her trip now she’s back on Australian soil.
Carrie, who left her desk on The Project for extended leave with her partner Chris Walker, son Ollie and daughters Adelaide and Evie, clearly had the best time enjoying the highs and lows of travelling with a family.
Already feeling nostalgic for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, she posted a slew of pictures from their holiday in the Greek island of Mykonos.
The series featured an adorable picture of Carrie planting a kiss on Chris’ cheek, selfies with her girls, a snap of her posing on the beach (with her abs on display), and scenic shots from the island.
She captioned her post, “Soaked up every last bit of sunshine and vitamin D we could before returning home. Sunshine and ocean makes me so so happy ☀️,” and she confessed, “But can’t wait to see family and friends. ❤️.”
One of her closest industry friends, Fifi Box, commented, “These pics are so beautiful, and we can’t wait to see you!!! 😍😍😍.”
Soon after basking under the Greek sun, Carrie posted a photo with her family on a ferry.
In her caption, she wrote about how the experience came with the highest joys that were sometimes met with tricky challenges – but ultimately, she has no regrets, and they couldn’t have had a better time.
“And so comes to an end the most incredible few months….,” she began.
“Was it perfect NO. Was it always easy NO. Was it worth it YES YES YES. Nothing worthwhile comes easily.
“I am just so glad we had a crack. Memories made that we’ll talk about forever ❤️,” she mused.
Edwina Bartholomew commented under the post, “Have loved following the adventures x,” and Angela Bishop gushed, “Living life to the absolute fullest. Love it!”
Turia Pitt wrote, “Love this for you guys!!” and Sylvia Jeffreys shared, “So cool, guys. Safe travels home. X.”
The Project fans are excited for Carrie to return to the panel.
Long time friend of the show, Chrissie Swan, has been filling in for her colleague while she was away.
Speaking on the Hit Network’s Carrie & Tommy which she co-hosts with Tommy Little, Carrie remarked that it’s not often she can be with her family.
“I work heaps and stuff and I don’t get that family time,” she explained on the radio show.
“I asked Evie what her favourite thing about the entire trip was, and it was and the exact same thing as me, and it was picking her up from school every afternoon.”
Even Carrie’s 14-year-old son agreed and commented on the family trip: “I feel like I know my little sisters so much better now.”
