Sources report the couple, who have been dating for just seven months and engaged for less than one, hosted an intimate rehearsal dinner over the weekend at their swanky Beverly Hills property. The intimate event was attended by close family and friends including Nicole Richie, Drew Barrymore and Benji’s twin brother, Joel Madden.
The couple plan on wedding at home and Diaz, 42, reportedly celebrated her impending nuptials with a bachelorette party at the weekend in a hotel with her closest girlfriends.
People magazine reports that party trucks and bunches of white flowers were spotted arriving at the gated community where Cameron and Benji live and celebrity wedding planner to the stars, Yifat Oren – who planned nuptials for Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman – apparently arranged the couple’s rehearsal dinner.
A big tent has been spotted on the pair’s property and several celebrity guests are said to have been invited including Reese Witherspoon and Cameron’s BFF, Drew Barrymore.
TIME speculates that the pair will attempt to explain away the huge celebrity presence under the guise of a “pre-Golden Globes party” at nightfall.
While the whirlwind romance might seem hasty for a never before married Cameron the actress recently told Cosmopolitan Australia that when it comes to relationships timing is what’s most important.
“Timing is everything. Most relationships that people get into when they’re young, the girls are like, ‘I wanna get married!’ and the guys are like, ‘Yeah, maybe someday,'” she said.
“But if you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn’t want, it’s never gonna work. You are never going to get him in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who’s in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.”
