Simone Callahan has shared a subtle tribute to her late ex-husband Shane Warne while wishing their eldest daughter Brooke Warne a happy birthday.
The mother-of-three took to Instagram on Monday to gush over Brooke as she turned 25 – her first birthday without her beloved father.
“Happy Happy Birthday Brookie🎈❤️✨ @brookewarne 2️⃣5️⃣ today. Pure sunshine you are!,” she penned.
“Our number one girl and We all love you so much. Wishing you the most Special day and hope you have fun in London Town 🏴🤍💙❤️I know Dad would be so proud of you ✨❤️, sending you all the wishes in the universe today.”
Simone, who was married to the cricket icon from 1995 until 2005, kept Shane’s memory alive by sharing several photos of him and Brooke in a special birthday slideshow.
In one of the sweet throwback pics, Shane holds Brooke and his son Jackson in his arms after playing a cricket game at the SCG.
Another shows Simone, Shane, Brooke and Jackson enjoying a day at the beach together.
Brooke shared her appreciation for her mother’s video by commenting: “Love you so much Muma, special words 🤍 would be lost without you, missing you and Thank you for the specialists birthday reel.”
Earlier this month, Brooke’s family, friends and boyfriend Alex Heath threw her an early birthday party
“Can’t imagine a better person to share celebrating 25 with 🤍 Happy Early birthday to @fajita_heater and I , swipe for the best pic of all time 🤭🕯🤍❤️🌟🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹,” the birthday girl captioned her post.
Shortly after Shane passed away from a heart attack in March during a holiday in Thailand, Brooke posted a tribute dedicated to her father.
Alongside a sweet picture of her arms around Shane as a child, she penned, “Dad, this doesn’t feel real and doesn’t make sense that you are not here with us anymore.
“It doesn’t feel right, you were taken away too soon, and life is so cruel. I will forever cherish our final memories together laughing and joking around with each other. We were happy.”
Brooke’s birthday is the second milestone the family has rung in since the legendary cricketer’s passing.
Jackson threw himself a party for his 23rd birthday in May, which proved the Warnes will continue living with the same enthusiasm their dad would encourage.
