The Channel Nine breakfast show took to social media to share a flashback photo of the iconic Australia couple.
“Patti Newton met Bert more than 50 years ago. Here at Channel Nine and this week they celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary!!,” they penned alongside a wedding photo from the couple’s 1974 nuptials.
After close to half a century of love, the duo are the proud parents to son Matthew and Lauren, and grandparents to their daughter’s four kids Lola, Eva, Sam and Monty.
Last year, the 71-year-old chatted to Woman’s Day about the secret to her and Bert’s enduring relationship was time apart.
“I think we have a great relationship because we’re not always in each other’s pocket,” she told the publication.
The beloved grandma also admitted that her hubby, now 78, is happiest when he is working and she enjoys being at home with her kids and grandchildren.
“He can go off and do a little bit of work here and there, and when he comes back there are three grandchildren at home,” she said.
While Patti isn’t running around the grandkids, she is putting all her maternal experience to good use.
The bubbly personality is part of Westfield’s Christmas campaign, alongside celebrity stylist Lesley Crawford and restaurateur Angie Hong.
Dubbed the ‘Nanna Squad,’ the trio will deliver more than 200 years of Christmas experience… and it’s all sure to be jolly good!
