After eight seasons of making us laugh on-screen, Angie Kent and Yvie Jones made the decision to say goodbye to Gogglebox in 2019.
Since then, the duo have appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and kept fans laughing with their witty banter across a whole host of TV shows and platforms.
Angie also went on to star as The Bachelorette Australia in 2019 and appear on Dancing With The Stars in 2020, even writing a book about her time on TV.
Meanwhile, Yvie tried her hand at radio, filling in for Fifi Box on Fox FM’s breakfast show and joining Grant Denyer to host the Hit Network’s summer breakfast show in 2019.
Now, it’s time for the dynamic duo to try something new.
The pair took to Instagram overnight to unveil their exciting new project: a podcast.
Titled Two Girls One Pod, the podcast is being created with Nova and promises to bring us back to “old school couch days, minus the human contact and 800 rescue dogs.”
According to the official launch, the weekly podcast will see Angie and Yvie talking about “all the things we love them for” with raw, unfiltered chats between two besties.
“So stoked to be able to chat your ears off, warm your hearts with tales as old as time and just have an all-round laugh really,” Angie wrote on her Instagram after the announcement.
They’re not the first Goggleboxers to launch a podcast, following in the footsteps of friends and former co-stars Adam Densten and Symon Lovett.
The pair launched the aptly-named Adam & Symon Show in March 2019 and launched a footy-focused spin-off podcast called He’s Been Doing It All Day in June 2020.
Plus, the boys will be returning to Gogglebox in 2021 as part of a major cast shake-up due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns in Sydney and Melbourne.
We have to admit, after the year we’ve all had – it’ll be nice to have the boys back on our screens and to reunite with Angie and Yvie on their podcast.
Looks like it’s all coming up roses for Gogglebox fans in 2021!
