It’s official, after twelve years together, Brangelina is no more.
Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Brad Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences.
And it seems Ange doesn’t mess around when it comes to acting on decisions; the mother of six only decided she wanted a divorce a week ago.
The 41-year-old actress will also be seeking full physical custody of their children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox – and is only willing to grant brad visitation rights, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
Angelina only wants Brad to have visitation rights.
The documents indicate that the couple have been separated since only September 15.
Angelina released a statement on the split through her lawyer.
“This decision was made for the health of the family,” the actress’s attorney said. “She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time.”
What went wrong?
Meanwhile, Brad Pitt has broken his silence on the divorce, saying all his focus now will be on the children.
“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids,” he said in the statement. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
Brad will be putting all his energy into his kids.
An insider spoken out about Brangelina’s split, saying: “The divorce is a complete shock. They have definitely spent more time apart this year, but it’s still a shock. They just celebrated their wedding anniversary together.”
Sources close to the couple told TMZ that Angelina’s decision to file for divorce had something to do with Brad’s methods of parenting.
Angie apparently wasn’t happy with the way Brad was raising the children.
She said the split was “for the health of the family”.
Nevertheless, rumours began swirling immediately that yet another affair on the part of Brad Pitt was to blame for their split, between Brad and his latest brunette co-star Marion Cotillard.
According to Graham King, the producer of their upcoming film Allied, the pair had chemistry that was “electric”.
“Brad and Marion immediately had the utmost respect for each other, so once they delved into their characters, their chemistry was electric,’ he told People in a previous interview.

But the French actress is said to be “absolutely devastated” at being dragged into their divorce drama.
The 40-year-old is currently in a relationship with actor Guillaume Canet.
Brad and Angelina met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith when Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston.
“Marion and Guillaume are blissfully happy, and these kind of claims are not what Marion wants to be hearing,” said a source close to Marion’s family.
“Claims that she’s cheating on Guillaume with Brad will leave her absolutely devastated,” the source said.
“This doesn’t sound like her at all.”
If true, surprise allegations would mirror the circumstances that began Brad and Angie’s relationship back in 2005, when the couple met and fell in love on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith while Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston.
