Amal Clooney is a lot of things: top human rights lawyer, style icon, mum to twins and one half of one of the best celebrity couples out there.
But turns out she can add awesome friend to that list, as she’s reportedly been helping Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, adjust to her new London life.
A source told People magazine, “Meghan and Amal have known each other for a while [and share] many interests. “Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life, it was a very natural friendship from day one.”
Hollywood royalty mingled with actual royalty at Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
The British lawyer and the Duchess of Sussex met through a mutual friend and both share the same passions for activism, especially those related to human and women’s rights.
Meghan was a UN women’s advocate for political participation and leadership and famously spoke at the headquarters about how she protested against a sexist dishwashing soap advertisement.
Amal has spoken at the UN headquarters numerous times including working with Kofi Annan for a United Nations commission on Syria and acting as counsel during a 2013 inquiry into the use of drones in counter-terrorist activities. Together, these two will probably save the world!
The Clooneys split their time between London and their house in Lake Como, Italy and the source said that George and Amal “are flying back and further between the US and Europe, but everything is set up at the Lake Como house.
“They will spend as much time by the lake as they can.
“They always seem to love coming to the lake.”
Perhaps Harry and Meghan will have a summer getaway this year? We can just picture the glamorous, Italian double dates between the Clooneys and the Sussexes!
