Former Bachelor star Alex Nation has a picture-perfect life right now after recently getting engaged and welcoming her son with fiancé Carson Jory.
And in the five years since first finding fame on Richie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor, the 29-year-old has proved she is every bit the supermum.
Alex, who shares her 10-year-old son Elijah with her former partner, recently took to Instagram to candidly reveal how she manages the sometimes tricky process of co-parenting with blended families.
“Elijah’s dad, step mum, Carson and I do everything we can to make things as easy as possible for all of us,” she shared.
Alex revealed the key is “working together” and sometimes having to make compromises.
“Look, there are certainly days where I’m sure we all really can’t be bothered making the trek [between her house in Victoria’s countryside to her ex-partner’s home],” she said.
“We both have little bubbas who keep us very busy (and tired). But we do what needs to be done for Lijey. He’s number one.”
In August last year, Alex confessed that Elijah was “a one night stand baby”.
“He was actually my boss at work. We had an office fling and it was just one night [after a work party]. One night of flirting, passion and excitement. Six weeks later, I found out I was pregnant,” she told Laura Byrne on Mamamia’s Me After You podcast.
“We weren’t dating or anything. So we had to get to know each other and learn to love each other over the course of the next nine months for Elijah. It was a completely different ball game. The biggest whoopsie, but the best whoopsie.”
At the time she fell pregnant, Alex was just 18-years-old while Elijah’s dad Joel was 23.
The couple continue to co-parent despite ending their relationship and even went on holiday to Bali together at the end of 2019.
The 2016 Bachelor winner and 2019 Bachelor in Paradise contestant has previously gushed over how “proud” she is of their family unit.
“When I went away to Europe recently, a friend of mine had both of his parents there who had been separated for years. Their relationship inspired me and got me thinking of how much I would love the very same thing for Elijah. Here we are,” she captioned the snap, adding: “Beyond proud of this, where we are and where we are going as parents.”
The former reality star has since found love with Carson, and the pair welcomed their first child together, Maxwell, in August.
In late September, shortly after Maxwell’s arrival, Alex revealed Carson had popped the question.
She posted a video of her gorgeous diamond ring alongside the caption: “Morning coffee forever with you. 01.09.21 #mrsjory”
