FINALLY! The Bachelor is back, and one of the show’s finest leading lads to date – the ridiculously hot and so-sweet-it-makes-our-eyes-water (but in a good way) Matty Johnson – is plastered all over our flat screens once more.
And thank god, because honestly, we were starting to miss that rig.
Ahoy, Matty J! Feel free to batten down our hatches any time…
We were lucky enough to hit the harbour with the 31-year-old dreamboat for a cruise, an exclusive photoshoot, and a chat about everything from his gorgeous bachelorettes to how he and his new lady (yes, he picked one!) are staying connected now that they have to keep their love on the down-low while the show’s on.
More importantly, we got to know Matty J – who is as lovely as he is beautiful to look at – and found out a few things about the hottie that we never knew before…
Matty has some not-so-secret talent…
1.HE DOESN’T BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!
“I think that love at first conversation is more accurate. I think you can look at someone and go, ‘Wow, they are beautiful’ and be really attracted to them, but then I think it’s that conversation where you really tell if you are attracted to them.”
Kind of like how we felt when we first laid eyes on you, Matty?
2.HE’S A THRILL-SEEKER
“I’m the type of person who likes to be a bit of a thrill-seeker, and that definitely translated into some of the ideas for dates,” Matty tells OK!.
“I like to push the limits a little bit. There are things that are done at great heights and things done by the water, which is all I can tell you.”
Eep!
3. MATTY’S TASTES ARE AS YUMMY AS HE IS
Want to woo the pants off Matty J? Just put on his all-time favourite flick – Forrest Gump – feed him Lindt dark chocolate with sea salt (no problem!) and make him a nice cup of tea.
“I love nothing more,’ he says of his ultimate cuddly winter afternoon.
4. HIS FIRST JOB WAS AT MACCAS
We bet Matty had his local McDonald’s store packed!
But these days he’s more about the salads than the up-sizes. “I’ve always been fit and healthy. I played a lot of sport when I was growing up.”
5. HE HAS A SECRET TALENT…
“I’m not sure if anyone can do this…”
[Matty stands up and cracks his hips]
Er…
“I can crack my hips! How many guys have you met that can crack their hips?” he laughs. “I’m very proud of my secret talent… I didn’t know that it was something special until I did it in front of a few people and they were like, ‘What the hell was that?’ And I was like, ‘It’s my hips.’ I will need at least 10 minutes between cracks.”
And no, sadly, it’s not a trick that has made him a hit with the ladies… “I don’t think that it would ever work. People’s reactions are usually one of discomfort. It’s never really impressed anyone that much.”
