Since Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s announcement that they would be stepping back from their royal lives, it seems as if everyone has been caught up in the #Megxit drama.
And whilst we’ve read some comments that have a hint of passive-aggression from the Queen, we’re not sure how the rest of the royal family have reacted to the news. That is, until Duchess Camilla’s reaction was caught on camera.
In a new clip shared by ITV News royal editor Chris Ship on Twitter, the Duchess of Cornwall was asked whether she will miss her stepson Prince Harry and his wife Duchess Meghan.
Duchess Camilla smiles, pauses, then responds with, “Hmmm. Course!” You can watch the clip for yourself in the player above.
Royal fans were quick to praise Duchess Camilla for her response.
“Camilla is the best! She has been caught giving Meghan the stink eye so many times, she’s starting to become one of my favourite royals,” one commented on the Twitter video.
“Love her no-nonsense. Her face @ Trooping, then being super sick on Remembrance. Not showing up @ Sandringham last yr. She has always been Charles #1 fan, staunch supporter. She doesn’t suffer fools gladly,” remarked another.
Others, however, remarked that Camilla’s response was perfectly measured and shouldn’t be read into as much as it already has been.
“Here we go starting on Camilla now, she probably didn’t want to get onto conversation about them,” one Twitter user wrote.
“What’s she going to say? ‘Can’t wait to see the back of them, especially THAT woman’,” pointed out another.
One comment even read, “A look that says ‘don’t be impertinent,’ more than anything else.”

It’s been previously reported that Duchess Camilla and Duchess Meghan shared a close bond once she joined the royal family.
According to Vanity Fair, the two, who are both champions of women’s rights, “clearly really like each other,” like a “close family friend,” adding that Duchess Meghan and her royal stepmother-in-law’s relationship is described as “aces,” and is filled with “real warmth and support.”
A source also told The Mail On Sunday that, “Camilla goes out of her way to find time to spend with her, to get to know her and make her feel welcome.”
The Queen officially addressed Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back in an official statement remarking that while they and Archie “will always be much loved members” of her family, the couple will forego their HRH titles and repay their Frogmore Cottage renovation costs.
“I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life,” the Queen stated.
“I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.”
“It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
