Ever since Cameron Daddo exploded onto Home and Away‘s prime time slot this year, it would be safe to say we’ve been hooked.
Of course, the soap isn’t the iconic Aussie actor’s first rodeo, but his depiction of Ryder’s estranged dad Evan, and later, the late Evan’s identical twin brother Owen, has given him a shiny new outlook in 2020’s celebrity-verse.
Fans and followers of Summer Bay’s elite aren’t passive – we’re talking die-hard, instantaneous fans for anyone who dips their toes into the golden sand outside the show’s iconic surf club.
So when Daddo made his grand return to the screen, you can bet everyone was hanging onto his every update.
The 55-year-old has a following of 18,000 and climbing on Instagram, which gives him quite the platform to share some lighter additions to our news feeds.
One of those things is his colourful family life.
Daddo has been married to wife Alison Brahe for almost 30 years, with the couple sharing three children – daughters Lotus, 24, and Bodhi, 14, and son River, 20.
And while three whole decades is a long time, Cameron’s love for his wife is as strong as ever – and the proof was in his latest Instagram post.
Sharing a beautiful collage of candid snaps of his wife on their 1991 wedding day, Cameron wrote: “Ever since I met her, she has lit up the room with expression. She has an ability to make you feel heard as she listens to your every single word.”
Okay, excuse us as we scramble for a box of tissues and weep tears of unashamed happiness.
Cameron’s co-stars shared their own thoughts on the sweet tribute post, with his on-screen love interest Georgie Parker (who plays Roo) writing: “Divine , DIVINE.”
Emily Symons, who plays Marilyn on the show, also added: “How lovely. So beautiful @alidaddo.”
And for the record, we wholeheartedly concur with the above statements!
Cameron’s character Evan on the hit Aussie soap has been keeping front and centre of late as his storyline looks to be leading to a blossoming romance with beloved character Ro.
In fact, the entertaining two-some are building up the narrative in their own, comic way.
Earlier this week, Daddo shared a selfie snap of the pair on set along with the caption: “@georgieparker takes the best selfies… this was just before we mounted steeds rode off into the sunset…”
“You two are doing a fab job! Loving the storyline,” one fan aptly wrote in the comments.
As for what’s to come for Evan and Roo is anyone’s guess (this is Summer Bay we’re talking about), but that said, we’re more than happy to see Cameron front and centre stage for the time being.
And a few more refreshing Instagram tributes will never go amiss…
