Lady Louise Windsor, 10, has suffered from exotropia – a condition that turns the eyes outwards – since she was born prematurely in November 2003.

As well as affecting her appearance, the condition made it difficult for Louise to see clearly.

Louise underwent a 30-minute surgery under general anaesthetic late last year which successfully corrected the problem.

Royal watchers first noticed her new look when Louise accompanied her parents to Royal Ascot last December, and well-wishers who turned out to greet the royal family as they attended church on Christmas Day also commented on the difference in her appearance.

Louise first had an operation to attempt to fix the problem when she was 18 months old but it was not successful. It is not known how many subsequent surgeries she has undergone in the years since.
