Hollywood insiders say Brad Pitt is “beside himself” after his teen son Pax Jolie-Pitt – who he shares with his ex Angelina Jolie – broke his silence over his parents’ spiteful and drawn-out divorce.
The teenager, who turns 20 this week, blasted the Oscar winner in a just-surfaced post on his Instagram story in 2020.
“He never says much about his parents, he keeps himself to himself, so that was unusual,” says a source of Pax’s spray.
(Credit: Getty)“Happy Father’s Day to this world-class a-hole!! You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person,” Pax raged across a picture of his famous father receiving his Oscar at the Academy Awards in 2020.
“You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence,” he added, referring to his siblings Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15.
Brad, 59, was cleared of any child abuse charges after Angelina claimed the Babylon star allegedly became violent with her and their children during a 2016 private flight from France to Los Angeles.
According to the insider, “It’s incredibly distressing for all of them to have this three-year-old post rehashed”.
“Back then, there was so much anger and unsolved issues, and Brad had 50 per cent custody at the time. So Pax was posting after he and Brad were clashing over something small that brought a lot to the surface,” reveals the insider.
“He was lashing out, and they actually worked through it at the time in family therapy, which was court-ordered, so it’s devastating to have it out in the public domain.”
“Now that the kids speak up, I believe them,” commented one follower of the teen’s tirade.
(Credit: Getty)While the source insists no one should feel sorry for Brad, nor does he expect it, “like any addict, he will spend the rest of his life facing up to the consequences of what he did but it breaks his heart knowing just how deeply it’s affected his children”.
In fact, confirms the insider, there are still so many issues festering away and it’s affected his relationship with all his kids, not just Pax.
It wasn’t that long ago that the actor thought there’d be a chance he could repair the damage he’s done and make things right with them.
The source insists that “while things might look grim – and he’s willing to take any public beatings they want to issue him – he’s hoping time will heal things and he’ll never give up trying to be a father to them”.
