Princess Caroline of Monaco has announced the engagement of her son Andrea Casiraghi to Swiss heiress Tatiana Santo Domingo.
Andrea, 28, is second in line to the throne of Monaco, behind his mother who will rule the principality if current ruler Prince Albert fails to produce a legitimate heir.

Tatiana, also 28, is the daughter of late Brazilian socialite Julio Santo Domingo — who was named Colombia’s second richest man in 2011 — and Brazilian socialite Vera Rechulski.
The couple met while attending boarding school in Paris and have been dating for seven years.
Andrea and Tatiana have not yet set a date for their royal wedding, but it is expected to take place next European summer.

Andrea is the son of Princess Caroline and her second husband, the late Stefano Casiraghi, who died in a tragic boating accident off the coast of Monte Carlo in 1990.
Like Britain’s Prince Harry, Andrea has a reputation as a “royal rebel”, last year losing his driver’s licence after he was caught going 270km/h on Monaco freeway.
