Tributes have flooded in from all corners of the globe for Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex as they celebrate four years of married life.
However to mark their wedding anniversary, their official wedding photographer Alexi Lubomirski has shared a warm and personal message to the couple alongside one of our favourite snaps of them from their big day.
The fashion photographer took to his personal Instagram account to share one of the snaps he took on the big day of Harry and Meghan in their finery sharing a candid moment on a set of steps at Windsor’s Rose Garden.
“My photo from 4 years ago today! Happy anniversary H&M :),” Alexi sweetly captioned the black and white image.
Shortly after the wedding, Alexi revealed that the photo on the steps was taken in the three minute window they had to take some “quick shots” since “everything was running like clockwork”.
“The sun is setting right just over the top of Windsor Castle just behind them, it was just the most serene, beautiful light, they’re in love, walking around this beautiful garden,” he reflected.
“It was just one of those magical moments when you’re a photographer and everything falls into place. I said ‘just before you go in, sit on those stairs.'”
“[Meghan] just slumped in between his legs, and there was this moment where they were just laughing because they were joking about how they were exhausted and finally it’s all over. They just looked at each other and they were just laughing, and it was this just beautiful moment, and, when you are taking the pictures, you know you have something.”
Alexi’s throwback snap was one of three official portraits shared by the Palace following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding day.
The other two were taken in Windsor Castle’s Green Drawing Room and featured the adorable pageboys and flower girls – two of whom were Harry’s nephew and niece Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
A more formal portrait featuring the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and the bridal party were also shared.

(Image: Getty)Not only did Alexi capture Harry and Meghan’s engagement and wedding photos, he was also behind the camera for the 2021 Sussex family Christmas card.
In the stunning image, Harry and Meghan along with their two children Archie and Lilibet share a candid moment. The photograph was also the world’s first official photo of the couple’s daughter who was born in June 2021.

“To be able to continue the story of this family whom I first photographed as an engaged couple, then on the day of their wedding, as a married couple and now seeing their love manifest into two beautiful children, has been a delightful honour.”
He added: “This day with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was one such joyous experience, and one that I feel extremely privileged to have been invited to capture. X”
