New-gen Angels Behati Prinsloo (L) and Candice Swanepoel (R) this year welcomed the first members of their families just one month apart in November and October respectively.

In a tell-all Instagram post shared in the lead-up to this year’s show, Adam Levine’s stunning other-half revealed that, much to the disappointment of fans, she won’t be gracing the glitter runway this year after all.

“This would have been my 10th year,” the new mum of daughter Dusty Rose wrote, adding her wish of luck to this year’s Angels.

Candice, who welcomed son Anacã recently, shared a similar sentiment, saying: “So hard for me to disappoint the people that always root for me, I wish I was there making you all proud.”

The South African-born beauties’ spots are in good hands, though, as a slew of “It” girls prepare to strut their stuff in their place.

Hollywood hotties Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid will be joining the cast of leggy models for the second year running, while Gigi’s younger sister Bella gets ready to make her big debut.

Before the big show, join us in looking back on the most iconic supermodels to ever grace the bedazzled catwalk!

These Angels will not be following in models’ Adriana Lima and Heidi Klum’s footsteps, who each returned to the runway eight and five weeks after giving birth.

Miranda Kerr was the first Australian to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway in 2006, making her one of our favourite Angels of all time. Her charming smile and adorable dimples win her the title of catwalk queen.

She’s fierce, she’s fabulous and she knows how to make it on top! These days, Tyra Banks is fashion TV mogul, but we’ll always remember her as one of the original Angels, who first hit the runway in 1996.

Naomi Campbell is one of the world’s first supermodels, clocking up mileage on her “super” status by strutting up a storm on the VS runway back in 1996.

Gisele Bündchen was one Victoria Secret’s longest-running stars. The Brazilian beauty began her reign in 1999 and officially retired from modelling in 2015.

Super-babe Heidi Klum first walked the VS catwalk in 1997, and had a sparkling 13-year run with the lingerie brand.

Beginning her VS reign in 1999, Adriana Lima is the lingerie label’s longest-running model, and will be returning for another showstopping appearance in Paris this year.

Also returning for another eye-popping strut is mum-of-two Alessandra Ambrosio, who will celebrate her 16th year in wings in Paris.

Behati Prinsloo swooped in and fell in love with Adam Levine, and we can see why the rocker adores his Angelic, VS-veteran wife.

Brit beauty Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made her debut in 2006, and although she is no longer an Angel, the super-strutter still has a killer VS bod!

Karolina Kurkova was an Angel for 10 years. The blonde bombshell finally hung up her wings in 2010.

Honourable mentions must be given to resident VS performer Taylor Swift and her model BFF Karlie Kloss, who owned the runway in 2014.

And, of course, Lily Aldridge in 2013…

How could we forget Cara Delevingne’s 2013 appearance! After Swifty hit it off with the models, a whole bunch of them starred in her epic Bad Blood music video.

Victoria’s Secret sure know how to make an Angel.

And in the words of the Angels, “Love is always in season!”
