Pizza lovers (read: all of us) rejoice! That beloved, greasy, cheesy, oozey circle of Italian goodness won’t give you pimples or acne.
^^Yes, you read that correctly.
According to dermatologist Dr Sandra Lee, better known as Dr Pimple Popper, YouTube’s go-to gal for spot-popping videos, eating greasy foods has no impact on the amount of oil in your skin.

However, before you dial up Domino’s, read this.
Speaking with The Metro, the dermatologist explains that while eating a nutrition-rich diet is essential for our insides and everyday health, she doesn’t think what we eat has any effect on our skin.
“I don’t see a direct correlation between the foods you eat and that having an impact on the skin,” she says.
Although, before we go gorging on everything in sight, Dr Lee says there is ONE exception.
“Not many foods trigger acne, apart from in certain circumstances when food products contain hormones, such as cow’s milk and cheese,” she says.
Basically, diary gives us acne.
Sigh.
And if that wasn’t painful enough to read, Dr Lee also reminded us that because chocolate is made from cow’s milk, our chocolate binges aren’t excused from those dream foods that won’t effect our skin.
Talking specifically about the pimples that pop-up after a chocolate and The Bachelor session:
“It’s most likely the surge in sugar and dairy that’s triggering hormone fluctuation, and thus wreaking havoc on your skin,” she says.
In the midst of coming to terms with what we always knew (chocolate gives you pimples), but always played-off as a myth, let us remember the important things in life: pizza does not give you pimples.
Thank goodness for that.
