At 51-years-of-age, actress Robin Wright recently bared all (both literally and figuratively) for The Edit magazine and revealed the secrets behind her youthful complexion.
The stunning fashion shoot left many in awe of her incredibly toned physique – something she credits to her physical training for her role as Amazonian warrior Antiope in Wonder Woman.
“We would do horse riding for an hour… [then] weight training for an hour – heavy weights and short reps to build size quickly,” she told the magazine. “We were trying to [eat] 2000 to 3000 calories a day: raw oats in smoothies with avocado, whole milk and weight-gain powder, three times a day.”
But while her Wonder Woman regimen may seem extreme, the Golden Globe winner says when she’s not in training for a film she’s a “everything in moderation” kinda girl.
“I’m a moderate person,” she shared. “I’ll have a bottle of wine and then I’ll wake up the next day and drink green juice and eat salads.”
And while that explains her banging bod, what’s the secret to her flawless skin?
“Sprinkles,” the star happily admitted, referring to injectables. “You bet. Everybody f—in’ does it… It’s just the tiniest sprinkle of Botox twice a year.”
Robin says the trick is not going overboard
“I think most women do 10 units,” she explained. “But that freezes the face and you can’t move it. This is just one unit, and it’s just sprinkled here and there to take the edge off… I ain’t hiding anything!”
The actress made waves last year when she threatened the producers of her TV show House of Cards with public exposure after discovering co-star Kevin Spacey received more money per episode than she did.
“I was like, ‘You better pay me or I’m going to go public,’” she said at the time. “And they did.”
The 51-year-old later explained she’d seen statistics revealing her character was more popular than Kevin’s for a period of time. “So I capitalised on it.”
And Robin revealed the inequality in her pay packet came after years of working part-time – a period during which she raised her two children, Dylan, 26, and Hopper Jack Penn, 23.
“If you don’t build [your] salary bracket with notoriety and presence, you’re not in the game anymore,” she revealed. “You don’t hold the value you would have held if you had done four movies a year, like Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett did during the time I was raising my kids. Now I’m kind of on a comeback.”
