During her five-year reign as Minister for Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop’s poise and grace under pressure became just as synonymous as her chic power dressing.
The trail-blazing politician knew how to send a message with her dazzling statement-making outfits (who could ever forget those resignation red shoes).
Since stepping back from politics in 2018, the 64-year-old has still been experimenting with her style and recently debuted a stunning new longer hairstyle.
The ex-MP has grown out her signature pixie cut into an above-the-shoulder bob – and fans can’t get enough of her transformation.
In a series of images posted to social media showing off her longer locks, fans were quick to praise Julie’s new hair.
“Julie your longer hair looks lovely 👍,” one person said.
“You look happy and hairstyle is lovely 💕👌💐,” a second commented.
“It’s a girl thing …. but look how long your hair is!! 💛,” another agreed.
Earlier in the year while she was growing out her cropped cut, Julie wore her hair swept up in a cute ponytail style.
Following her resignation from politics in April 2019, Julie has taken on a role as chancellor at Australian National University in Canberra and currently sits on the board of the professional services company Palladium.
She has established her own strategic advisory firm and is also working as a headline speaker at various events, including a women’s business retreat at the Intercontinental Fiji Resort and Spa last year, where she was the keynote speaker discussing “How to Lead with Dignity and Grace”.
Julie has previously opened up about how much she is enjoying the freedom that comes from not being involved in politics anymore.
“It’s probably easier to do things differently when you’re outside politics,” she told The Sydney Morning Herald in 2019.
“You don’t get the constant commentary on how you look and so you can be, perhaps, a little edgier.”
She said she felt “liberated” by her decision.

“I feel very liberated. I love my life, I’m enjoying very much what I’m doing. But that’s always been the case. I loved every moment of politics, virtually every moment of politics,” she said.
“There were some rather trying moments when you felt you were enduring some difficult times, but by far the majority of my time in politics was highly satisfying. Challenging, satisfying, and I enjoyed it.”
Julie is currently dating pharmacist and winemaker David Panton.
