How to cut your beauty routine in half

Who has 30 minutes to get ready in the morning? We don't! Here's our guide to the best 5-minute beauty tips.

Those of us with early morning starts know what a pain it is to rush around in the morning, crimping, curling and cleansing. And some days, the first time we look in the mirror is in the work lift after the school drop off.

So, for those days when you’d rather snooze than slick mascara or cook some cupcakes than curl hair, we spoke to The Weekly Beauty Director Sheree Mutton for her tips to cut down your routine and get you out of the door quicker than ever.

Whether it’s trading contour for concealer, skipping the eyebrow wax, or replacing the heavy foundation with an alphabet cream like Megan Gale, we have six tips for cutting your morning preparation time in half.

Moisturise. The key to looking done up without the doing up, is having clean, fresh and glowing skin. How? moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. TIP: Try one with an anti-aging components like L’Oreal Revitalift for an extra kick.

Dry shampoo. When you get up in the morning, washing, blowdrying and styling your hair can seem like a challenge of Olympic proportions. To avoid the fuss, dust your hair with some dry shampoo and style with your fingers. Tip For a sexy messy look, apply the dry shampoo before going to bed.

BB Cream. Don’t want to bother with primer, foundation and concealer? Dab a little BB Cream (Blemish Balm) and smooth in with your fingers for light, even coverage. TIP: Want a little more coverage? Try a CC (Colour Correcting) Cream or DD (Dynamic Do-It-All) Cream, if you prefer.

Conceal. Don’t have time for a full face of make up? Just dab some concealer underneath your eyes and on problem spots, blend and go. TIP: Put a little in the corner of your eyes next to your nose to widen your eyes.

Blush. To brighten your face easily and quickly, add a swipe of blush over the apples of your cheeks. TIP: Pick a bright pink for a healthy glow.

Lipstick. If you’ve got a beautiful bright lipstick on, people are will focus on this and not the rest of your face. TIP: Slick some gloss over the top for a nice shine.
