Ever since she appeared on our screens as Home and Away‘s lovable Hayley Smith, Bec Hewitt (née Cartwright) captured our immediate attention – and stole our hearts in the process.

The original Sydney-sider was an iconic face of the Aussie soap for years, with her misunderstood character raking in viewers as they witnessed her tumbles and triumphs on the shores of Summer Bay.

Even when she eventually departed the show in 2005 after announcing her first pregnancy with husband and tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt, the Australian golden girl stayed front and centre of the public eye.

And some things never change when it comes to some of Australia’s most well loved soap celebs… well, unless you count Bec’s enviable head of hair in the mix.

If you take a stroll down memory lane, you’ll become well aware of the multi-faceted colour palette Bec has introduced to her locks.

From signature blonde to dark brunette, shades of black and even a fine mahogany phase, the 38-year-old mum has never been shy of a spot of hair dye – and the pictures certainly prove it.

Most recently, Bec went back to the dark side and debuted her new chocolate blonde locks.

Here, we take a look back at her eye-opening hair transformation – and keep scrolling, because you’re in for another surprise as we come to the year 2020…
