Greg and Chris: Marriage crisis

The newlyweds are at odds because of his ex-wife Laura refusing to fade into the background…

Greg Norman’s six-month marriage to Chris Evert is already on shaky ground, as the champion golfer’s angry ex-wife Laura Andrassy threatens to come between them.

While Greg has long since moved on from his wife of 25 years, Laura, 58, isn’t ready to let the couple forget the pain and anguish she has endured.

Insiders say Laura has been bombarding Greg and Chris, both 53, with phone calls and has even enlisted some of Greg’s friends and family to help make Greg realise just how much he hurt her.

“Laura’s actions are causing terrific tension in Greg’s marriage to Chrissie,” says an insider. “If Laura isn’t telling people [how she was hurt] then she’s calling Greg, or having friends and family call to say how she was betrayed. There is a great deal of tension and Chris wants it stopped.

“Laura just can’t seem to let go,” reports the insider. “She will stop at nothing to keep the support of those who sided with her and it’s driving Greg and Chrissie mad.”

Despite receiving a reported $158million divorce settlement, sources say the payout has done nothing to keep Laura from interfering in Greg’s life.

“She was supposed to take the money and walk away,” a source close to Chris told Woman’s Day.

David Campbell weds his ‘perfect woman’

Crooner David Campbell marries British belle Lisa Hewitt in front of a crowd of stars in Sydney…

A serenade from his Aussie rocker dad, Jimmy Barnes, was the icing on the cake for David Campbell when he tied the knot with British actress and producer Lisa Hewitt in a ceremony at St Philip’s church in Sydney.

And Jimmy couldn’t have been prouder of his son as he shared the big day. “He’s nervous as hell,” Jimmy said before the wedding. “She is gorgeous. They’re a great couple.”

In an online message to friends, David, 35, admitted to being nervous — “emotional” — but excited to marry his “perfect woman”.

The day went off without a hitch. Lisa, 28, spent the morning in Potts Point with her bridesmaids, including Kath & Kim actress Magda Szubanski, who had originally introduced David to Lisa.

Ivana Trump’s revenge: My new man

Days after announcing her split from husband number four, Ivana cosies up to his double…

Ivana Trump has already found a new love interest, just days after announcing the end of her seven-month marriage to Italian actor Rossano Rubicondi.

Showing no signs of a broken heart, Ivana, 59, was spotted cosying up to French model John-David Dery, 22, at an event in Paris. The odd pair happily kissed and cuddled, with J-D saying, “I like this woman passionately”.

Last week, Ivana confirmed the split with Rossano, 35, following reports he’d cheated on her with an Argentinian model while filming Italian Celebrity Survivor.

However, she insists they split several months earlier and divorce papers show they legally separated in August. “I didn’t want to spoil his chances of winning the TV show,” Ivana says of her previous silence.

“Rossano wants to live in Miami and work in Milan. But I am a New Yorker and my family, my friends and business are all here. As the beautiful song says, ‘Que sera, sera’,” a nonchalant Ivana said.

K-Fed breaks his silence

Kevin Federline has spoken out for the first time about his marriage to Britney Spears…

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline has opened up about his tumultuous relationship with the pop princess, revealing the emotional hell that ended their union and disputing her claims that he dumped her.

Kevin’s decision to speak out in the explosive interview with US People magazine, comes after Britney, 27, blamed the father of her two boys, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, for their marriage breakdown in her recent documentary, Britney: For the Record.

“He started to do things for himself, and I just never saw him any more,” Britney said, before admitting she married for the wrong reason.

“Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of everything,” she said.

Kevin claims the comments struck a devastating blow: “I don’t understand it. I can’t really tell you how it was for her, but I know for me, I fell in love,” he told the magazine. “And I loved the idea that I was in love and I got married and had two beautiful children.”

Reese tells: Family, feuds and love again

**By Gill Pringle

The sweetheart of the silver screen talks about the juggling act that is her life…**

Reese Witherspoon can certainly relate to Kate, the young woman she plays in her new film, Four Holidays. Together with her boyfriend Brad (Vince Vaughn), Kate has to endure four festive season celebrations with their respective divorced parents and extended families.

Reese herself was divorced in June this year, ending her nine-year marriage to Ryan Phillippe, whom she met at her 21st birthday party in 1997. The couple share custody of their two children, Ava, 9, and Deacon, 5. For more than a year now, the Avon Global Ambassador has been dating her Rendition co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, 27.

While Kate has a bumpy Christmas ride, 32-year-old Reese hopes for a peaceful, romantic holiday season surrounded by her loved ones.

Four Holidays, which opens in Australia on December 4, also features several other A-list actors such as Mary Steenburgen and Sissy Spacek. Did you enjoy working with them?

It was so fun. It was great to just — and Jon Voight and Robert Duvall. I have the biggest crush on Robert Duvall. He’s such a great Southern guy, — he was so great in The Apostle and Tender Mercies. Big crush. And Sissy was so great too. We talked about playing country singers and stuff like that. There were a lot of Oscars on the set.

Did everybody bring theirs in?

Bring your Oscar to work day?! No, but we should have. It would have been really funny.

Is Christmas and the holidays a happy or stressful time for you?

There’s many stages — first there’s panic. I walked into Starbucks last week and they were already playing Christmas music and I had an absolute panic attack. I was like, “Turn if off! I’m not ready!” I think I have to get through Thanksgiving first, then it starts with the parties then the family. That’s when the family starts trickling, and then you finally get rid of the family and then you get to sleep for a few days, and then it’s New Years. Then it’s all over! You know?!

Do you miss it when it’s all over?

No, I’m not that kinda person. I’m a go-forward gal!

Do you remember, as a child, when you found out there is no Santa?

That for me was in the second grade when Mary-Beth decided to get up and for show and tell told everyone there was no Santa Claus. The whole class burst into tears and she got into a lot of trouble and got sent home.

Did you believe her?

Well, no, because she had to come back the next day and say it wasn’t really true. She was just really lying to hurt people’s feelings. Poor thing. It was a psychological mess.

Do your own kids believe in Santa Claus, and how would you feel if an uncle came to them and told them Santa didn’t exist?

My kids believe in all sorts of things. We have all sorts of fairies for different holidays. Like, we have a Halloween fairy and on top of the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny. I think, “How did this happen that I also have to get more things?” But, yeah, they still do and I don’t know. Kids find out that kind of stuff on their own.

But what if another grown-up told them?

What?! Are you suggesting there’s not a Santa Claus?! Is that what you’re saying? I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t want to hear that any more.

Growing up, how did you spend Christmas?

We always had to go to church and nativity plays and all that kind of stuff so growing up. I did a lot of that.

What do you personally enjoy doing at Christmas?

I go to church on Christmas Eve and I like to hear the music and all that kind of stuff, and be quiet and thoughtful about what the holiday really means for me. Then it’s just about family and togetherness. It’s about a lot of cooking and playing games and kids. It’s all about them enjoying their day and doing what they love to do. That’s why it makes it so much better when you have children around you, you can see the joy that they have. Yeah, I think a lot of it is about traditions. We tried to explore each one of those traditions in the film. We had family photos and playing games and all kinds of stuff that people mark as traditions in their family.

What would you like for Christmas this year?

Oh gosh. I have a big garden so I could really use some help because that’s a lot of work. Sometimes I get tired of doing all that stuff but I like it, it’s kind of nice.

So you want a gardener?

Oh yeah, that’d be nice! I have a farm so I like chickens, I’d like an Araucana chicken. That’d be nice — it would lay blue eggs. And I know I’m going to get hounded this year for a horse. I have a feeling I know I’m going to have two little people pulling on my leg going, “Can we have a horse? Can we have a horse?” But, gosh, can’t we just get through Thanksgiving? So much pressure!

There’s a scene in the film where the family has a $10 budget. How would your own family respond to that?

Oh, wouldn’t that be great? Wouldn’t it be great to record the look on their faces? No, my family always had a thing where everybody always got one thing, whether it was like chocolates or flowers — it would be the nicest little chocolates you could get or the one really nice toy that was beautifully made. It was always about the quality of things and not the quantity of things.

What does family mean to you?

Family is so important. You have to accept them as they are because, honestly, they’re not going to change.

Any other insight into relationships?

The truth is, people tend to evaluate their own relationships in comparison to that of their parents, and that can be a daunting prospect in many ways.

Four Holidays is screening nationally now.

Aussie teen: The fight to save my arms

At just 18, Tiffany Upton’s life took a horror turn in a work accident that almost robbed her of both arms, but the brave Queenslander has handled her ordeal with amazing strength and optimism…

All Tiffany Upton wants for Christmas is to put her arms around her family ? a simple wish she will have to wait two years to fulfil.

In a shocking industrial accident two months ago, the petite blonde teenager’s arms were almost ripped off and were left savagely damaged. Doctors compared her injuries to those of a shark attack.

But Tiffany, 18, from the small town of Killarney, about two hours’ drive south-west of Brisbane, has amazed doctors with her positive outlook and the progress she has made since her ghastly experience.

However, they have warned her that normal physical activity ? even giving her mum a proper, loving hug ? may not be possible for two years. Even after that, her arm movements could be severely restricted.

“Right now, I can just about manage to give Mum a half hug,” she says, with not a hint of self-pity. “Just a one-armed hug with my less damaged left arm. But at least I’ve come out of this nightmare alive, and one day when I’m better I’ll definitely give Mum a really big hug the way I used to do. I’ve promised her that.”

Jessica Simpson watches TV… religiously?

From Kabbalah to Scientology, celebrity spirituality often errs on the side of the unusual. But now Jessica Simpson has drawn divine inspiration from… TV?

The Dukes of Hazzard star has told Marie Claire about her keenness to get theological.

“I’ve been contemplating taking a college course in religion. I love religion,” she said.

Jessica’s sudden enthusiasm for faith isn’t the result of her talking to the likes of Madonna, Tom Cruise or even Buddhist Richard Gere. Instead, it’s all thanks to a documentary.

“I remember whenever the book The Da Vinci Code came out, the Discovery Channel did this three-night piece on it that I TiVoed and then watched eight times.”

Perhaps Jessica’s reality TV series Newlyweds inspired someone to study marriage counselling.

Lindsay Lohan under fire for fur again

It seems that not even a flour bomb is enough to make Lindsay Lohan change her spots.

According to The Sun, the actress has been, er, spotted in a leopard-patterned coat in LA. This comes less than a month after LiLo had abuse — and flour — hurtled at her by anti-fur campaigners in Paris.

Lindsay, 22, has made the People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals’s (PETA) worst dressed list this year. Animal rights activists have also dubbed her a “fur hag”.

Another recent fur-offender is Liz Hurley who has copped a serve for signing up as the face of fur company Blackglamma.

Others on PETA’s worst list include Kate Moss, Eva Longoria, Aretha Franklin and Kylie Minogue.
