It’s been the media story of the week, and one that has many scratching their heads: Liz Hurley and Shane Warne … a couple?

Amidst the media circus Liz has found a friendly shoulder to cry on, that of ex-boyfriend Hugh Grant.

Still good friends, it was no shock that Grant was on hand to comfort Hurley. The two spent a few hours at Hurley’s west London home on Wednesday.

Hurley and Grant dated for eight years before Hugh had a run-in with the law in Los Angeles. The relationship ended two years later.

It has been a tough week for the glamorous supermodel who has faced a barrage of criticism from the unforgiving British press. She is no doubt thankful for the support from the Love Actually star.

Hurley announced via Twitter this week that she had split from husband, Indian tycoon Arun Nayar. “For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this.”

Warne also released a statement to clarify his relationship status with Simone Callahan. The couple have been on-again-off-again since their divorce in 2005 and then reconciliation. “Sadly and unfortunately, Simone and I split up a while ago, our close friends and family were informed at that time. It is a private matter so we did not make it public. We remain friends and will continue to be good parents.”

There are rumours circulating that Liz will join Shane in Sydney for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Kate Cebrano: Why I love Christmas!

Kate Cebrano: Why I love Christmas!

The popular entertainer had anything but a conventional upbringing, but Christmas is still her favourite time of the year.

Of all the exciting ventures ahead for singer and performer Kate Ceberano, the one she’s really looking forward to is Christmas. “It’s my favourite time of the year,” says Kate, 44, her eyes lighting up as she looks around at the decorations bringing a festive touch to her Melbourne home.

“It seems like the whole of Australia loosens its tie and exhales come this time of the year, and gives in to the spirit of Christmas. I know it’s probably too excessive – the food, the gifts and the whole commercial element of it – but I just love, love, love it!”

And no clan loosens its collective tie like the free-spirited Ceberanos. This Christmas, Kate will be kicking back with her family as she enjoys playing aunty to her brother Paul’s newborn baby.

“I shall be able to just relax, not have to entertain or be on show or feel a need to ‘direct’ everything,” she says. “I’ll be able to be daughter, mum, wife and Aunty Kate.’’

Kate, who will join the Nine Network’s Getaway in 2011 and has released a CD of festive favourites, Merry Christmas, has plenty of memories of this time of year. “I remember back when I was about eight, how excited I was, waking up to a lovely hot, baking Christmas morning,” she says.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s baby surprise!

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's baby surprise!

Just like her sister Antonia, Nicole and her husband may have something extra to celebrate this Christmas.

Her sister Antonia is about to have her fifth child, but a new niece or nephew may not be the only bundle of joy in Nicole Kidman’s thoughts of late.

While the flame-haired actress recently confided she has “gained a little” weight and is “sucking her stomach in”, she might not be referring just to her food intake over the festive season.

Some are speculating that the devoted mum, who’s long been rumoured to be trying for another child, may have had her wish fulfilled. Instead of coming home to Australia for Christmas this year, as she usually does, the actress and her country music star husband, Keith Urban, 43, have announced they will be staying at home in Nashville with their daughter Sunday Rose, 2. It’s a decision which means Nicole could miss the imminent birth of her sister Antonia’s baby.

The sisters share an intense bond and have been there for each other through all their ups and downs – Nicole’s divorce from Tom Cruise and Antonia’s from Angus Hawley, the father of her four children; plus the births of each others’ children, and the adoption of Nicole’s two children with Tom, Isabella, who turns 18 next week, and Connor, 15.

So for many it’s a surprise to hear that Nicole, 43, plans to “rest up” for the holiday season. “I’m just going to be staying home for Christmas and I’m looking forward to it, except I’m not a very good cook,” Nicole explained to the New York Post.

A very Jolie-Pitt Christmas!

A very Jolie-Pitt Christmas!

Ange and Brad prefer travel over toy shops, but someone forgot to tell the kids.

Now in New York after their stay in Budapest, a trip to the tropical Seychelles and a whirlwind visit to Paris, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s well-travelled tribe must be suffering from a collective dose of jetlag.

Yet Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, and Zahara, 5, didn’t seem tired at all on a trip to Lee’s Art Store with Mum last week, while tomboy Shiloh, 4 – sporting a cute military costume with matching sword and lace-up boots – was simply bursting with excitement to get inside for a spot of shopping.

But the festive season is more about flying than buying for this family.

It’s tradition for Brad, 46, Ange, 35, and their brood to spend the holidays in a different destination each year.

“We spend time looking at maps, which is what we’re doing now, trying to figure out where we want to be,” reveals Ange, who did most of her holiday shopping from a pile of catalogues in a movie trailer while filming in Hungary.

Oprah’s amazing Aussie diet!

Oprah's amazing Aussie diet!

She’s battled her weight for years but now she’s finally ready to tell Australia about the only diet she swears by.

For more than 20 years, Oprah Winfrey has endured a very public battle with her weight, going from skinny to curvy and back again in the space of a few short months.

“In 1988 I starved myself to fit into a pair of jeans,” she says in the latest issue of O magazine, “then walked on to the set of my show hauling a wagon loaded down with 67 pounds (about 30kg] of fat. I wanted to make clear just how much weight I’d lost. As time passed, though, the fat came back. By 1992 I was in the heart of the struggle to gain control of my body.”

That struggle lasted more than a decade, but over the past two years the talk-show host has made peace with her body.

“I’m no longer battling my weight,” Oprah, 56, says. “I had to make peace to move forward and look at the fear that keeps showing up as fat. My goal isn’t to be thin. My goal is for my body to be the weight it can hold – to be strong and healthy and fit, to be itself. My goal is to learn to embrace this body and to be grateful every day for what it has given me.”

Now that Oprah has hit Australian shores, she’s about to reveal exactly how she learned to maintain a healthy weight and finally love her body. During one of her shows at the Sydney Opera House, she will talk about the book she believes has finally helped her deal with her weight-loss demons. A Course In Weight Loss by Marianne Williamson (Hay House, $19.95) is, she believes, “the miracle we’ve been waiting for”.

Amazing stunt family: We’re all in on the act!

Amazing stunt family: We're all in on the act!

Most families get together over the dinner table or spend as much time as they can hanging out at the beach.

But for the Stannages, their bonding time is a little more active. This adrenalin-fuelled family’s idea of fun is setting each other alight and jumping over cars on motorbikes.

“Obviously there is a risk involved, but who better to trust than your husband or your son?” laughs mum Janine, 40, who is regularly set on fire by her nearest and dearest.

Dad Mark, 43, has been involved in stunt work since he was 14, after being influenced by stunt greats Evel Knievel and Eddie Kidd. But getting married and having a family didn’t stop this man of action from putting himself in the line of fire. In fact, he was running through a blazing rugby field for a stunt show when he first caught Janine’s eye.

“I saw him and I thought he must be a nutter,” she says. “But it didn’t stop me falling for him and we’ve been married for 13 years.”

Janine did the commentary on Mark’s stunts at first, then decided to join the action and get involved in high-risk acts too. When they had their son Aaron, now 15, it was inevitable he’d also become an adrenalin junkie.

Celine Dion speaks for the first time about her IVF miracle babies

Getty

Celine Dion has spoken publicly for the first time since giving birth to twin boys, revealing she was having triplets but one baby didn’t survive.

Speaking to Canada’s Hello! magazine, the 42-year-old said she still thinks of a third son who didn’t survive the pregnancy.

“One little baby decided to step back to help the other two survive,” she said.

“The doctors said to me if there’s something wrong, natures takes its course. I still think of the one who stepped back. I’m sure every woman has the feeling about the little one that’s not there.”

Throughout the interview Celine detailed her struggle with the long IVF process and said her boys, named Eddy and Nelson, have made her life “extraordinary”.

“We tried five times before I got pregnant. On the sixth try, it worked out. We were blessed twice,” she said.

“It’s extraordinary to be parents again. Nelson and Eddy are doing well. They’re six weeks old.”

In another interview on the Larry King show in the US, Celine also revealed she often gets her twins confused.

“The twins are not identical. We called them Baby A and Baby B,” she said.

“But we were all confused. After a week we sat down and thought it would be our two heroes.

“We named Nelson after Nelson Mandela. We went to South Africa on the last tour and … it was such an impact to meet him, what a hero and we decided to name a son after him.”
