Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt might seem like they’re living the dream, but Matt Damon says they’re actually “prisoners” in their own lives.
Matt has been friends with Brad and Angelina for years, and says their life is nothing like people imagine it to be. He says the Hollywood power couple are now so famous, they can’t even leave their homes without being mobbed by fans and photographers.

“I have friends who are like prisoners. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, for instance,” Matt told German television network TELE 5. “They can’t just go someplace. If they go for a walk, it turns into an international incident.
“I’m really lucky, because I have the best of both worlds. I do the work that I love and need, but don’t need paramilitary troops to protect me when I walk out my front door.”
Matt married former bartender Luciana Barroso in 2003. They have four daughters, Alexia, Luciana’s child from a previous marriage, Isabella, five, Gia, two, and nine-month-old Stella.

Matt says marrying someone who isn’t famous has made his life much easier. Instead of worrying about the paparazzi and being mobbed by fans, he can just concentrate on being a husband and father.
“Ever since I found my wife and we had children, my whole life revolves around that. It gave my life a dramatic change in direction,” he said.
“I’m not as crazy as most of the other stars. I don’t really know why, probably because I married a woman who isn’t an actress. And we live in New York. As long as we don’t show up in typical tourist spots, we can walk the streets without being noticed. New Yorkers are very cool, they don’t flip out if they see me.”
Your say: Do you feel sorry for Brad and Angelina, or do you think being mobbed every time you leave your house is the price people have to pay to be famous.
