Nicole Kidman says she is boring

While most celebrities were “face-down drunk” as George Clooney put it following the Golden Globes after party, Nicole Kidman was not one of them.

In fact the Aussie actress admitted she was “boring”.

“I don’t drink [alcohol],” she told US Weekly “See how boring I am. I’ll have sparking water tonight.”

And her decision is not surprising considering her husband Keith Urban has a history of alcoholism.

The glamorous couple looked flawless as they walked the red carpet with Nicole saying it took her “about the same” amount of time to get ready as her husband.

Kelsey Grammer and his new wife Kayte Walsh are expecting twins.

Kelsey, 56, and former flight attendant Kayte, 30, revealed their baby news in People magazine earlier today.

Just hours after the announcement, the happy couple attended the Golden Globes in Los Angeles.

Kayte looked lovely in a peach-coloured gown, which showed off her growing baby bump, and the couple seemed unable to take their eyes off each other as they walked the red carpet.

Kelsey topped off his blissful day by winning the Best Actor in a TV Drama award for his performance in new political show Boss and thanked Kayte profusely in his acceptance speech.

“This is very nice. I’d like to thank my wife Kayte for the future,” he said. “What a magnificent year it’s been.”

Kelsey continued to praise his wife backstage, raving about her warmth and kindness.

“I am really looking forward to meeting these arrivals! Kayte will be an extraordinary mother,” he said. “She is one of the most loving, warm human beings.”

It’s not the first time Kayte has been pregnant with Kelsey’s child. She suffered a miscarriage in October 2010, just three months after she started dating Kelsey.

Kelsey and Kayte married in February 2011, 15 days after his divorce from his third wife Camille Grammer was finalised.

The actor has four children, Mason, 10, and Jude, seven, with Camille Grammer, and two children from two previous relationships.

Brad Pitt found Angelina crying in the shower

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrive at the 'In the Land of Blood and Honey' premiere in LA.

She’s a super mum of six, a UN goodwill ambassador, an award-winning actress and only recently met with US president Barack Obama, but even Angelina Jolie doubts herself.

During a video web chat with Marie Claire magazine on Thursday Angelina revealed she had a “complete meltdown” before production began on her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey .

“I had a complete emotional breakdown in the shower and Brad [Pitt] found me crying,” she said.

“I felt this huge responsibility and I felt very small. ‘Who am I to take this on?'”

Despite her film’s success — it has been nominated for a Golden Globe — and her successfully walking the red carpet to promote it, lately she still isn’t sure about her sudden career change.

See Brad and Angelina arrive on the Golden Globes red carpet!

“I didn’t plan to become a director, and I still have trouble saying I’m a director,” she said.

“I just wanted to tell this story and I ended up by default being the director,” she said.

“It was a pleasure, but I wonder if it would be a pleasure with another cast and crew, and a subject matter that wasn’t so special.”

Bec and Lleyton’s seven year battle is over

Bec and Lleyton's seven year battle is over

No matter how Lleyton Hewitt fares at the Australian Open, his wife will be on top knowing she’ll soon move back home.

When Bec Hewitt cheers on her husband Lleyton at the Australian Open later this month, it will not be the nerve-racking experience it has been in previous years. In fact, she will still be smiling broadly, even if he loses. As the couple reach the seven-year mark in their marriage – a time when most relationships are put to the test – Bec has told friends she is the happiest she has ever been because, at last, Lleyton is retiring from professional tennis and giving her the life she has always wanted, raising their three children back home in Australia.

Despite her husband’s past success, it hasn’t all been easy for the former Home And Away starlet. In fact, after seven years of frequent travel with young kids and being based in the Bahamas – where she has no friends or family – Bec was miserable and desperate for Lleyton to retire from competition tennis. Matters were made worse by pressing financial pressure from failed business ventures, an ugly court case and Lleyton’s flagging performance on court.

However, his promise to Bec that he will announce his retirement shortly and move back to Sydney has changed everything. The couple are back on track, madly in love, and excited about what the future holds. And while that new life will mean fewer first-class flights and luxury hotels, that suits down-to-earth Bec just fine. “Bec won’t miss the five-star life one bit,” reveals a close friend of the actress.

“Any time she’s in exclusive boutiques in London or Paris, she’s just keeping someone else company or killing time. Her tastes are fairly simple. “She loves nothing better than browsing the chain stores of Castle Towers mall in Sydney with the kids in tow – and she’s always emphatic about not needing or wanting any more jewellery than her engagement ring, her Chanel earrings, and her precious diamond ‘L’ necklace. She’s happy with who and where she is in life.”

Boldy’s no Bingle! Meet the woman making Michael Clarke smile

Bec and Lleyton's seven year battle is over

Michael Clarke’s new love Kyly Boldy may be a model, but that’s where the similarities end with his former fiancee Lara Bingle.

Behind every great man stands a great woman, and in the case of star cricketer Michael Clarke, it’s new love Kyly Boldy who firmly has his back. Friends close to the sporting hero say the 30-year-old brunette seen giving her boyfriend a standing ovation as he made his remarkable triple hundred at the Sydney Cricket Ground earlier this month is responsible for Michael’s current happy state and resulting peak form.

The Australian captain, 30, is said to have fallen hard for Kyly, despite swearing he would never date another model following his intensely public and acrimonious split from former fiancee Lara Bingle in March 2010. So, over the past 18 months, he has insisted the couple keep a low profile, allowing their love to blossom away from the media spotlight that attention-seeking Lara attracted. “People call Kyly the stunning enigma – and the mystery is all Michael’s doing,” a close friend confides exclusively to Woman’s Day.

“He pushes that, as he’s so scarred after the very public and drawn-out break-up with Lara. He’s fanatical now about keeping what he and Kyly have together private for his own sanity. She doesn’t mind because she’s shy.” While Lara drove a flashy Aston Martin and wore designer clothes, Kyly is far more down-to-earth, conservative in her tastes and with a level head in regard to money and hard work, friends say.

While Lara made her name wearing a bikini in a high profile Australian Tourism campaign, Kyly worked her way up, starting out as a cheerleader, Big W catalogue model and men’s calendar pin-up. She has since appeared in reality TV show Temptation Island, and has an interior design business, Bold Interiors.

Read more about how Kyly and Michael’s relationship, plus how he feels about his ex-fiancee Lara Bingle in this week’s Woman’s Day on sale January 16, 2012.

John Jarratt’s wife swap: He dumps wife for ex-wife

John Jarratt's wife swap: He dumos wife for ex-wife

The Wolf Creek star suddenly dumps his third wife to return to his first.

He played a cold-blooded serial killer in the worldwide hit film Wolf Creek, and John Jarratt is playing the villain all over again – only this time it’s in his own real-life soap opera. The bizarre story began shortly before Christmas, when the father-of-six left his third wife, Cody, and their two young sons on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast to spend time with his ex-wife, Rosa Miano, and their daughters Zadia, 34, and Ebony, 25, in Sydney.

But what were supposed to be platonic visits ended up with John falling in love with Rosa all over again. So when the 59-year-old actor returned to his partner of 12 years, and their sons Jackson, 10, and Riley, 8, it was to tell Cody “it’s over” and that he was planning to move back to Sydney to live with Rosa permanently. “I can confirm John and Rosa are back together, but I’m too shocked and hurt to say anything further at this stage,” Cody Jarratt tells Woman’s Day exclusively.

Her sentiment is shared by those who know the couple well. “We are all quite shocked by it,” a close friend reveals. “Cody is just devastated. “When I saw them together a few months ago, they were very affectionate towards each other. Cody is angry and upset. For months, she and the boys believed everything was fine.” Worse still for Cody, 47, the pair were halfway through expensive renovations on the home they share in Doonan, near Noosa, when John delivered his news.

This is in addition to financial pressures following a multimillion-dollar legal case over backing for the Wolf Creek sequel by entrepreneur Geoffrey Edelsten, leaving the project on hold. “Friends are angry for Cody and the boys, and worried about the debts she is facing,” the insider continues. “Cody is going to be left up in Queensland, alone with her boys, a long way away from her family in Sydney, in a house that is only part-way through being renovated.

Kate begs William: Don’t leave me

Kate begs William: Don't leave me

Grey hairs, sleepless nights and endless tears… the fairytale has soured for the Duchess of Cambridge, as she prepares for a long separation from her Prince Charming.

During the London premiere of his film War Horse, Steven Spielberg noticed Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, dabbing at her eyes. The director’s wife saw the waterworks too, offering the weeping royal some tissues from her handbag. Steven chalked up Kate’s tears to the emotion of the movie, but friends say the brunette beauty has been crying for weeks.

She is struggling to cope with her upcoming separation from Prince William, who leaves for a six-week stint with the Royal Air Force in the Falkland Islands next month. The film simply brought to the surface the reality of life as a military wife, one close source tells Woman’s Day. “She’d prepared herself for the stress of the royal wedding, but she had no idea that things would get worse afterwards.” The strain is so great, we’re told Kate has been getting just a few hours of sleep a night.

Much to her horror, she’s also discovered a few grey hairs – her friends have dubbed them “stress highlights” – which she hides with organic vegetable-based dye, applied during four-hour sessions at the Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa in London. Kate was understood to be distressed at the thought of spending Valentine’s Day alone in cold, wet, windy Wales while her husband is 12,000km away in the Falklands.

But the news got worse for her on the day of her 30th birthday last week, when it was revealed that soon after his return, Wills will be sent on one of the air force’s most dangerous assignments – a search and rescue manoeuvre in the North Sea that has seen several casualties. Speaking exclusively to Woman’s Day, one of the prince’s air force colleagues reveals, “Wills was annoyed that his North Sea orders arrived on Kate’s 30th, as that’s the one mission that all the search and rescue pilots and their wives know could be fatal.”
