Seal slams Heidi but got cosy with models first

Seal slams Heidi but got cosy with models first

Heidi Klum with bodyguard Martin Kristen and Seal with a mystery beauty back in July.

We’re sure Seal is now wishing he’d kept his mouth shut instead of publicly claiming his estranged wife Heidi Klum had been seeing someone else before they officially split.

Back in July, Seal was snapped with a bikini-clad beauty aboard a luxury yacht off the coast of Porto Cervo, Sardinia.

As reported exclusively in Woman’s Day at the time, he was spotted cosying up to the unnamed women on a sofa and softly kissing her on the head.

Earlier this week, when Heidi — who has four children with Seal — was said to be getting rather close to her bodyguard Martin Kristen, Seal was quick to criticise her.

“Whilst I didn’t expect anything better from him, I would have thought that Heidi would have shown a little more class and at least waited until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help,” he said in an impromptu interview with TMZ.

Martin has worked as Heidi’s security guard for four years and Seal’s comments sparked rumours she had cheated on the singer during their marriage.

Seal’s representative later said Seal’s comments had been misconstrued: “Seal would like to clarify that he was not implying his wife was cheating while they were together, but he was merely pointing out that their separation and divorce were not final and they are still legally married.”

While a source told the UK’s Daily Mail that the woman snapped with Seal was “just a friend of a friend”, we are sure Heidi isn’t happy about Seal’s hypocritical behaviour.

Heidi’s new romance was revealed during a holiday in Europe with Martin, her children and her parents.

She also issued a statement over Seal’s comments.

“I cherish all of the great memories Seal and I created together over the years,” she told People magazine.

“Our separation was based on issues between the two of us. Seal has moved on and so have I. My priority has and continues to be protecting and providing for our children.”

Kris Smith moves on

Kris Smith moves on

The news she’s been dreading and he’s been keeping quiet. Dannii’s baby daddy has a new flame.

The photos of her estranged partner Kris Smith in a romantic embrace with his new love, Australian model Maddy King are sure to break Dannii Minogue’s heart. Despite the loved-up new couple’s best attempts to hide their relationship — swapping cars to elude photographers, entering and exiting buildings separately — the secret is out.

During the recent Myer fashion parades, the brunette Dannii look-alike was ensconced in a room with Kris at the Swissotel Sydney in the CBD. However, their best efforts to fly under the radar failed when Kris insisted on Maddy joining him for his 34th birthday celebrations last week and the two couldn’t keep their hands off each other. After dining at The Village in Kings Cross, the couple moved on to Bondi’s trendy The Bucket List, where Woman’s Day caught them kissing and cuddling in front of fellow diners including Sydney Roosters footballer Anthony Minichiello and wife Terry Biviano.

It appears Kris has shuffled off the cloak and dagger. Friends close to the handsome model and father of son Ethan with Dannii, 40, say he has been terrified of going public with his new love fearing it may cause problems with Dannii. The former couple are said to be keeping things civil for Ethan’s sake, and Kris is determined to keep it that way.

“Kris loves his little boy and will always respect Dannii as Ethan’s mum,” a friend of Kris’s says. “The last thing he wants to do is rock the boat with his ex or Ethan.” “He knows everyone is watching his every move,” another mate adds. “It wasn’t easy being Mr Dannii Minogue in Melbourne and it’s not a whole lot easier being the ex-Mr Minogue, anywhere.” But there is no use in hiding the fact it’s over.

Read more and see the pictures of Kris and Maddy together in this week’s Woman’s Day on sale Monday September 3, 2012.

Asthma drug makes kids shorter

Asthma drug stunts kids' growth

A popular inhaled drug used to treat asthma makes children shorter, a new study has found.

Budesonide, marketed in Australia as Rhinocort and Pulmicort, stunts children’s growth, cutting about 1.2cm off their height permanently.

The new research is based on a previous study, which showed that budesonide was safe and effective, but noted that kids taking it were an average of 1.2 cm shorter than those taking other asthma drugs.

The original study examined more than 1000 asthma sufferers aged five to 12. The kids were split into three groups and given budesonide, a non-steroid drug called nedocromil or a placebo.

William Kelly from the University of New Mexico, and his colleagues from several other universities, built on this study, contacting 943 of the original study respondents who were now adults.

They discovered that the children who were given budesonide were still an average of 2.5cm shorter than the other kids.

It was previously thought that children whose growth was stunted by the drug would “catch up” to their peers later in life.

“This was surprising because in previous studies, we found that the slower growth would be temporary, not affecting adult height,” researcher Dr Robert Strunk, of Washington University in St Louis, said.

The good news is that while affected kids don’t “catch up” to those not taking the drug, they don’t fall further behind either.

If your child is taking budesonide, the researchers warn against taking them off the drug without consultation with their doctor.

Strunk says a child’s dosage can be reduced if a child’s growth is a problem, but says in some serious asthma cases, the drug’s effectiveness might be worth the loss of a couple of centimetres of height.

“If a child is not growing as they should, we may reduce their steroid dose,” Strunk said. “But we think that the half-inch of lowered adult height must be balanced against the well-established benefit of inhaled corticosteroids in controlling persistent asthma.

“We will use the lowest effective dose to control symptoms to minimise concerns about effects on adult height.”

Heidi Klum pays tribute to marriage to Seal after divorce

Heidi Klum has refused to be drawn into a public slagging match with her estranged husband Seal, instead releasing a statement paying tribute to their seven-year marriage.
Heidi Klum and Seal.

Nearly every Hollywood divorce comes with a statement promising to put the children first, but most couples can’t resist a public slagging match that hurts their kids far more than their former partner.

Heidi Klum and Seal seemed destined to tread this familiar path this week, when the singer accused his estranged wife of infidelity, but Heidi took the high road, refusing to be dragged into a public squabble.

Instead, the 39-year-old supermodel released a statement that paid tribute to her seven-year marriage and reaffirmed her commitment to her children Leni, eight, Henry, six, Johan, five, and two-year-old Lou.

“I cherish all of the great memories Seal and I created together over the years,” Heidi said in a statement to People magazine.

“Our separation was based on issues between the two of us. Seal has moved on and so have I. My priority has and continues to be protecting and providing for our children.”

Heidi’s statement came one day after Seal, 49, commented about her alleged relationship with her bodyguard, who was photographed embracing Heidi while on holiday in Sardinia.

“I wish she had shown a little more class and had at least waited until we had separated before she started fornicating with the help,” he told gossip website TMZ.

Seal later stepped back from the comments, claiming he wasn’t implying Heidi had been unfaithful.

The public attack comes as a surprise as Heidi and Seal had previously insisted their split was “amicable”.

They are believed to be privately arguing over the details of their divorce. Heidi has reportedly applied for primary custody of the children, while Seal wants shared custody. There is also said to be disagreement about the division of shared assets.

Prince Harry has laughed off his latest controversy, making jokes in his first public appearance since naked photos of him partying in Las Vegas surfaced two weeks ago.

According to observers, the prince was “joking and relaxed” at a charity event on Monday, his first royal duty for the first time since the scandal broke.

In a speech he gave before handing out awards for the WellChild charity for seriously ill children, the prince jokingly alluded to the incident.

“All of you, children, families, nurses, doctors, carers, volunteers are quite frankly too remarkable for me adequately to describe with mere words,” he said.

“But never one to be shy in coming forward, I’ll give it a go,” the prince added with a grin as the audience burst into laughter.

Harry wasn’t the only one willing to joke about the incident.

Six-year-old Alex Logan, one of the children being honoured at the awards told an ITV news crew that if he got to meet Harry he planned to say “I’m glad you’ve got your clothes on”.

When Prince Harry got around to shaking the boy’s hand he had already heard of Alex’s plans.

“It looks like you’re dying to say something but you’re worried [your mum will] tell you off,” the prince said to the six-year-old.

“I heard you were on ITV earlier and you said something cheeky but let’s not talk about that here.”

Harry was happy to joke with other children, an observer said he hugged each one and was warm and relaxed in their company.

He shared a laugh with five-year-old Hope Hills, who gave the prince two sloppy kisses on the face.

“But we’ve only just met!” joked Harry.

My drunken fumble with naked Prince Harry

Prince Harry's Vegas 'lover' writing tell-all book

Carrie Reichert (© Facebook) who claims to have drunkenly kissed Prince Harry in Las Vegas.

A 32-year-old woman has given a tell-all interview about her naked romp with Prince Harry.

Carrie Reichert claims she had a 20-minute “drunken fumble” with the nude royal in his hotel room during his now-infamous private party in Las Vegas.

Carrie — the first person to speak out about Harry’s wild night in Sin City — says the Prince’s friends spotted her at the hotel’s pool and invited her up to join the party in the penthouse.

Carrie says Harry was “completely wasted” and already naked when she arrived in the private suite.

“Harry was already undressed,” she told The People. “It was just crazy, he looked actually delirious. There was a pool table and he was playing air guitar with pool sticks.”

Blonde Carrie caught Harry’s eye immediately and the pair struck up a conversation.

She says he then took her by the hand and led her to his room, where she removed her dress, stripping off to a tiny string bikini.

Carrie claims she and Harry then kissed for several minutes, groping each other in the dark.

“We kissed for 15 to 20 minutes,” she said. “I am sure someone stumbled in as there were people going in and out of rooms all the time. We kissed again and he said ‘That was great’.”

But despite their state of undress, Carrie insists there was nothing “sexual” about their encounter, saying it was “fun” and “not romantic”.

Surprisingly, it would appear that Harry’s girlfriend Cressida Bonas is taking a similar view on the night’s events.

Despite reports that Cressida, 23, had dumped Harry over his naked frolic, friends say the pair is closer than ever.

Cressida joined Harry on his week-long trip to Richard Branson’s Necker Island immediately prior to his Las Vegas holiday, and friends say they decided to “get serious” about each other while there.

Harry’s subsequent actions reportedly did nothing to dampen Cressida’s enthusiasm, and their friends are now predicting the next royal wedding will be hers and Harry’s.

“She’s so sweet and calm,” a friend told the UK’s Daily Mail. “She doesn’t do drugs. And she and Harry are so funny together. She’s perfect.”

Update: Clarence House has denied Harry ever met Carrie, who has since been arrested for writing fraudulent cheques.

Make your next hair cut for a good cause

Make your next hair cut for a good cause

Alarna Kench with the 27cm of hair she will donate to the Beautiful Lengths program.

Alarna Kench has always had long hair and never even considered going in for the chop.

That is, until she learned about the Beautiful Lengths program, a joint campaign between Pantene and charity Look Good…Feel Better, which is designed to inspire women to grow, cut and donate their hair to be turned into wigs for women undergoing cancer treatment.

Alarna is the first woman to donate to the campaign, which is being launched in Australia today.

Although she says it’s a “massive honour” to be the first Australian woman to take part, she didn’t make her decision lightly.

“I have to be honest, it wasn’t an easy decision,” she admits. “But essentially, it came down to the fact that it will grow back and that my donation had the potential to encourage others to support the Beautiful Lengths cause.”

“I have always had long hair, so the decision to cut off what ended up being 27cm, was a pretty drastic change.”

Alarna was motivated to donate to the campaign after receiving a text from a friend letting her know that his mother was suffering from cancer.

“It really brought home how much bigger this was than just cutting my hair,” she says.

“It’s strange how you get so emotionally attached to your hair, but that was another reason for me to chop it.

“I had a choice to part with my hair, the women that will benefit from this campaign don’t have that luxury.”

Now sporting a new haircut, Alarna says she “feels like a different person” in a very positive way, and encourages other woman to get involved.

“Book in with your hairdresser and let them do the hard work. It’s much harder to back out when someone else is doing the cutting,” she says.

“The great thing is that they will be able to tidy it up immediately, talk you through how to style it and hopefully help make the transition one you will be really proud of.”

A recent study by Pantene found that 90 per cent of Australian women would be prepared to cut and donate their hair to help a friend with cancer.

Actress Naomi Watts, who supports the campaign, is encouraging Australian women to start growing their hair now and participate in National Donate Your Hair Week which starts on November 12.

“I’m really proud to be part of Pantene Beautiful Lengths and bring this fantastic cause home to Australia,” she says.

“If we can support women undergoing cancer treatment by donating our hair, that’s a difference I hope many of us will make.”

Hair donation events will take place across the country throughout National Donate Your Hair Week, with women pledging their hair to the Beautiful Lengths cause.

Pantene will fund the creation of real-hair wigs and they will be distributed by the Look Good…Feel Better charity to cancer patients at no cost, to help restore their appearance during chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
