Angela Lansbury: I’m Malcolm Turnbull’s cousin!

Angela Lansbury: I'm Malcolm Turnbull's cousin!

When the stage icon soon hits our shores, she’ll be catching up with an important Aussie pollie.

On the eve of her first visit here in 55 years, beloved showbiz legend Angela Lansbury says top of her to-do list is savouring our ice-cold beer – and catching up with her cousin, federal politician Malcolm Turnbull, who she hasn’t seen since he was a tot!

“It’s ridiculous that this will be my first trip to Australia since 1958.Back then, I was in Sydney making [movie] Summer Of The Seventeenth Doll. You know, that’s when I fell madly in love with Aussie beer!” she laughs, as she chats exclusively to Woman’s Day from her New York home. “Considering my British heritage, it’s amazing I’d never had so much as a sip of beer until then. I became an instant fan and only ever drink Australian beer,” confides Angela, 87, in her famously rounded tones.

“I adored my time in Australia,” says Angela. “What I recall so vividly was the beautiful summer by Bondi Beach. We went for glorious picnics, and my children, Anthony and Deirdre, had great fun playing with Malcolm Turnbull who, back then, was about four.”

Angela says she and Malcolm are related via Malcolm’s mother, Coral Lansbury, who’s a cousin. “I haven’t seen him in all these years, but we keep in touch by phone and email. I am looking forward to a long-overdue reunion.” Angela, whose 70-year acting career has seen her become Hollywood royalty, a Broadway sensation and a television institution, says she’s excited to be starring on the Australian stage with her dear friend, Star Wars great James Earl Jones (right), in Driving Miss Daisy, which will tour nationally from February.

Russell begs Danielle: Please take me back

Russell begs Danielle: Please take me back

The Gladiator star is ready to do anything to win his wife back.

When Russell Crowe married Danielle Spencer in 2003, he was adamant they would be together forever. “I’ve been thinking about it for a long time so I don’t have any second thoughts,” he said. “The thought [of marrying her] crossed my mind the first time I met her.” Nine years on, a devastated Russell is desperately trying to save their union.

“He is begging Danielle for a second chance, even promising her a lump sum payout of $25 million if she agrees to hold off the divorce filing for three months while they try to work out their differences,” a US-based colleague of Russell’s reveals exclusively to Woman’s Day. The 48-year-old actor is leaning heavily on friends and colleagues on the set of Noah, the latest in a series of back-to-back movie roles including Les Miserables, The Man With The Iron Fists, Broken City and Man Of Steel that have kept him away from Danielle and his beloved sons Charlie, 8, and Tennyson, 6, in Sydney.

“It’s hit Russell like a ton of bricks,” a source close to Danielle reveals. “I think he thought Dani would never really leave him or the lifestyle of being a movie-star wife. But Dani couldn’t care less about all that.” The news came as no surprise to the couple’s inner circle. Close friends Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-lee Furness felt “something was very wrong” in the Crowe marriage when they attended a fundraiser brunch Danielle threw in the couple’s $10 million Rose Bay home recently.

“When they returned home, they [Hugh and Deborra-lee] were worried, sort of astonished that there was no sign of Russell living in that house,” a source close to the Jackmans reveals. “The decor was immaculate but nothing manly. Not even a den with a large screen TV or his rugby gear. No photos of him or anything. Deborra-lee was really concerned. They attended his wedding and thought he’d stick through with this one.” Clearly, Deborra-lee’s instincts were spot on.

SJP’s split heartbreak

SJP's split heartbreak

Parenting stress, rumours of infidelity and career mismatch have taken a toll. Now friends fear their long love story is at risk.

Sarah Jessica Parker became an icon to a generation of women playing unlucky-in-love Carrie Bradshaw – but in real life, she seemed to have the marriage thing down pat. Now friends of the Sex And The City star reveal her 15-year union – a lifetime in Hollywood terms – with 1980s heart-throb Matthew Broderick has been under strain for years.

Those close to the two say Sarah and Matt have been living apart for months as they prepare their children, nine-year-old James and twins Marion and Tabitha, 3, for the inevitable. And it’s all Sarah can do to keep it together for them. “Sarah’s terrified of being alone with three kids,” a source close to the couple tells Woman’s Day. “She knows her marriage hasn’t been right for a long time. But at the same time she feels like she’ll never meet anyone else, and she’s chain smoking and crying a lot. She doesn’t know how to cope. She is devastated.”

Dealing with a marriage in crisis is sadly nothing new for Sarah, 47. Back in July 2008, a US magazine reported that Matthew had been having an affair with a 25-year-old redhead while Sarah was filming the first Sex And The City movie. Despite her angst, the marriage survived – but not long after the twins were born via a surrogate in 2009, the relationship began to splinter again.

“Sarah is the first to admit she was a career woman who took her time to get into family mode. And although they coped with the arrival of their oldest child James, having the girls put a massive strain on their relationship,” our insider says. “She has a cleaner and nannies, but she gets frazzled trying to combine work, kids and making her marriage work. Matthew is a great dad and he’s very supportive – he used to cook almost every meal – but even so, they ended up fighting a lot and Sarah doesn’t have much patience for that.”

Tori Spelling: Our miracle baby

Tori Spelling: Our miracle baby

The former Beverly Hills 90210 star recounts her terrifying ordeal in which she begged doctors to save her baby boy’s life over hers.

Tori Spelling had planned the perfect evening. While her husband Dean McDermott bunked with son Liam, 5, for a boys-only sleepover in May, the 20-weeks-pregnant star and her older daughter Stella, 4, were having a slumber party of their own. “We were really excited for girl time,” says Tori, also mum to one-year-old Hattie. But the fun was short-lived.

“I woke up at 6am and there was blood streaming down my legs,” the 39-year-old recalls. Dean, 45, rushed his wife to LA’s Cedars-Sinai medical centre, where they received a scary explanation for the bleeding episodes that had plagued Tori – she had placenta praevia, a condition in which the placenta covers the cervix. It was likely caused by scarring from Tori’s three C-sections, further complicated by conceiving the baby just one month after giving birth to Hattie. Now Tori was at risk of having a massive bleed that could force doctors to terminate the pregnancy and remove her entire uterus in an attempt to save her life.

“It was surreal,” says Tori, who was forced to spend the next two-and-a-half months lying flat on her back in hospital. “I just remember thinking, ‘I can’t leave three children behind’. Fortunately, her baby boy Finn Davey McDermott was born safely on August 30. She shares her journey exclusively with Woman’s Day.

When did you realise something was wrong?

The first bleed happened at eight weeks. My heart dropped. I started screaming for Dean and told him I’d had a miscarriage, but the next day I went to the hospital and the doctor said everything was fine. Right after that, I went to Utah to film a Christmas movie and I had to do all these dance routines. I had bleeding the entire time, but the doctor said the baby was totally developed… When I had the episode with Stella, that’s when doctors told me my life was in danger and that I’d have to stay in the hospital until the end of my pregnancy and then maybe have a hysterectomy afterwards.

Generation XXX: Documentary exposes 12-year-olds who think porn is the norm

Generation XXX: Documentary exposes 12-year-olds who think porn is the norm

Girls pose for seductive photos to post online in documentary Sexy Baby

A documentary following girls as young as 12 posting images of themselves online in lingerie and imitating porn stars sheds light on how technology and pornography are shaping the sexual identity of young girls.

Sexy Baby: A Documentary About Sexiness and The Cyber Age, exposes the troubling truth of a generation getting their sex education from online porn, distorting their view of sex and what is normal.

Related: Why girls are having sex at 12

The film makers, former journalists Ronna Gradus and Jill Bauer hope the film will be a ‘conversation starter’ for parents when it opens in the US this week.

The documentary’s youngest subject, 12-year-old Manhattan girl Winnifred, reveals how she and her friends pose seductively for pictures to post online as she emulates her idol Lady Gaga, and explains the pressure to maintain a sexy online persona.

“Your facebook profile is not necessarily who you are, it’s more like who you want to be,” she says in the film.

“We make ourselves seem like we’re up for anything, and in a way all this internet stuff kind of traps you. You’ve started an alter ego that has to be maintained and has to be real in a way.”

The film makers have dubbed their subjects ‘Generation XXX’ and explore the world that Winnifred and her friends inhabit where ‘privates are public and extremes are the new norm’ — as well as the dangers of posting seductive images.

Winnifred’s friend Olivia told the camera “every girl wants to feel sexy, like Megan Fox,” but her attitude adjusted after a picture she posted of herself wearing only a bra went viral.

“I felt dirty afterwards,” she said.

The film explores this generation who are getting their sexual education from porn, and feel pressured to behave like porn stars.

“Winnifred represents the next generation and simply put, is confused. She recently told us that she worries about her male peers who are getting their first glimpses of sex via hard core pornography,” the filmmakers explained.

“The film is not specifically about porn, it is about the new seismic shift — the fact that everything is at our fingertips all the time and available to everyone of all ages,” the filmmakers told MailOnline.

Justin and Jessica are married!

Maybe baby for Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel?

Photo: Getty

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have married in Italy in a private ceremony near Naples.

“It’s great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends,” the pair said in a statement.

In the days leading up to the ceremony the celebrity couple were spotted in the Puglia region of southern Italy, surrounded by family and friends as they enjoyed pre-wedding celebrations in the rustic Italian setting.

An insider told the New York Post the pair chose the location near Naples because “it means a lot to both of them”.

“The wedding is happening outside of Naples in a tiny town this week. It is their favourite place, a location that is very special to them,” the unnamed source told the newspaper.

Guests were flown to Italy and then transferred to the wedding venue, which has been set up in and around a ramshackle castle in Brindisi.

“A private plane was flown out of New York to take guests to Italy, including both their publicists,” the source said.

“But the event has been shrouded in a lot of secrecy, and not even the guests were told the exact location or day of the wedding before they left.”

The newspaper also reports that Jessica’s maid of honour was her best friend Lindsay Ratowsky, while her stylist Estee Stanley has been heavily involved in the wedding planning.

The couple, who wanted to surprise their guests, sent out vague “save the date” several months ago, and guests were not allowed to take cameras or phones.

Celebrity friends rapper Timbaland, Jessica’s Seventh Heaven co-star Beverley Mitchell, and Chris Kirkpatrick from Justin’s former boy band ‘N Sync attended the wedding.

Young cancer sufferer becomes a CoverGirl

Young cancer sufferer becomes a CoverGirl

It’s not every day that you read about someone like Talia Joy Castellano.

At just 13 years old, the inspirational cancer sufferer has taken YouTube by storm, attracting more than 14 million viewers to her make-up video blog.

Six years ago, while spending time with another cancer survivor, Talia began experimenting with make-up and developed a love for it.

Now, after being discovered by US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres (scroll down for video), Talia has been given a rare opportunity to become the honorary face of beauty giant CoverGirl.

Talia, who was originally diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma diesease, a cancer that develops in infants and children and spreads throughout the body, has recently revealed she also has leukemia.

And although her prognosis is grim, the bubbly beauty is ready to fight both cancers head on and, with an incredibly positive attitude, has pledged to continue producing her videos “for as long as I can”.

“Basically, there are not really a lot of options for treatment anymore,” she says in one of her videos.

Talia now has to choose whether or not to undergo a bone marrow transplant, but the surgery would take a great toll on her already weakened body. If she doesn’t have the transplant, she has been given only four months to one year to live.

“I’m going to decide whether or not I want to do the bone marrow transplant, or whether or not I just don’t do it and live the time I have remaining,” she said.

So once a week, in the middle of enduring chemotherapy, radiation, stem cell transplants and blood transfusions, Talia records a tutorial.

Her love of make-up stemmed from her distaste for wearing wigs.

“I don’t like wigs, they’re so, I dunno… When I have on a wig I feel, not fake, just not me,” she says in one of her posts.

“When I put on my make-up I feel like I can embrace those features that I really like about myself. I feel if someone’s looking at me, they’re looking at my make-up, not looking at my bald head.

“I am just trying to make young girls, young adults, adults, anyone, feel beautiful by using make-up.”

And despite the hardship that cancer has caused throughout her young life, Talia is optimistically grateful.

“I’ve gotten so many benefits from [cancer]. Having a YouTube channel, having to inspire people and having people look up to me… I adore, I love make-up, using it as my wig… it’s amazing… the journey of having cancer was amazing. But every journey has an end,” she says.

“Having cancer has been a gift, but it’s a horrible, horrible thing.”

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green have welcomed a baby boy! But unlike most celebrity couples, the pair kept their new arrival a secret for weeks.

“I gave birth to our son Noah Shannon Green on September 27th. He is healthy, happy and perfect.”

The couple, who married in 2010, only announced they were expecting their first child together in June. Green is already dad to 10-year-old son Kassius Lijah, from his relationship with Vanessa Marcil.
