The contenders for Australia’s “most outstanding” and “most popular” Australian television personalities are in with Asher Keddie and Carrie Bickmore leading the way for women in the industry competing with the most popular blokes of the small screen to take out the top gong.
Keddie and Bickmore are up against funny men Adam Hills, Hamish Blake, and Andy Lee, as well as Home and Away’s Steve Pococke, for the Gold Logie.
Crowd favourite Chrissie Swan, nominated for a Silver Logie, will not be gracing the red carpet as the April 7 ceremony clashes with her due date.
New talents Annabel Crabb, nominated for her ABC2 show Kitchen Cabinet, and singer turned Offspring actress Clare Bowditch, will be making their first appearances at the awards.
The last woman to take home the top gong was Rebecca Gibney in 2009. She’s nominated this year for a Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress, against Asher Keddie, Ashleigh Cummings, Deborah Mailman and Julia Morris.
