All eyes were on Anna Nicole Smith when she attended the Kentucky Derby in 2004 but yesterday it was her daughter Danielynn’s turn to steal the show.

The six-year-old looked adorable in her Southern Belle-style attire, complete with hat, gloves and parasol.

She was escorted by her father Larry Birkhead, who was equally flamboyantly-dressed in a yellow, pink and orange striped jacket, white pants, shoes and gloves and a teal bowtie.

The annual race, held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, is a favourite for the dad and daughter, though this is the first time they’ve gone in costume.

Danielynn Birkhead and Anna Nicole Smith

Eye-catching attire runs in the family, however. Danielynn’s late mother Anna Nicole was centre of attention at the 2004 race, wearing a revealing candy pink organza gown and matching hat.

Despite being just six years old, Danielynn is the spitting image of her mother, even signing a modelling deal with Guess — that brand that helped launch Anna Nicole’s career last November.

Anna Nicole died of an accidental prescription drug overdose in February 2007, aged 39. She had nine drugs in her system, including Valium and Atavan. Danielynn was just six months old at the time.

It was a tragic time for the family, with Anna Nicole’s 20-year-old son Daniel collapsing and dying while visiting his mother and newborn sister Danielynn in hospital. He also died of an accidental prescription drug overdose.

Keira Knightley has married her rocker boyfriend James Righton in a low-key wedding in the south of France.

The 28-year-old actress wore a short cream tulle dress, cropped Chanel jacket, ballet flats and daisies in her hair and was so excited she was photographed skipping on her way to the ceremony, hand-in-hand with James, 29.

The bride and groom exchanged vows in front of just 11 people in the town hall of the hilltop village of Mazan in Provence.

Guests included Keira’s mother Sharman Macdonald, her husband, actor Will Knightley, and James’ Klaxons bandmates.

After the ceremony, the couple headed back to Keira’s family’s nearby farmhouse, to continue the celebrations with a lavish reception for 50 guests including Sienna Miller and Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Keira met James — the singer and keyboardist with pop band the Klaxons — in 2011. They got engaged in May 2012.

The ceremony was performed by the town’s mayor Aime Navello, who admitted he had never heard of the famous couple.

“Normally I know most of the couples I marry,” Navello told the UK’s Daily Mail. “Many of them are children I used to teach, but I haven’t heard of Keira, nor for that matter James.

“Keira was a charming bride, very modest and simple in her attitude, as was James. I got the impression that it was a very moving experience for both of them.”

A guest confirmed Keira found the ceremony emotional, telling reporters outside the venue: “It was a very moving ceremony. Keira looked extremely moved by the whole thing — there were certainly tears of happiness.”

Harry ‘lets slip’ William and Kate are having a boy

Prince Harry lets slip William and Kate are having a boy

Harry, William and Kate at the Harry Potter studios last month.

Prince Harry is always getting himself into trouble and it appears he’s done it again, letting slip the sex of his brother’s unborn baby.

While William and Kate have refused to reveal anything other than the baby’s due date, Harry has been unable to keep quiet, telling all his friends that the couple is expecting a baby boy.

“Harry has been telling everyone Wills and Kate are having a boy and how thrilled he is at the prospect of having a little nephew,” a source told the UK’s Sunday People.

“He said the whole family was excited about it. Apparently Kate has always wanted a boy.

“The close inner circle all know that it’s a boy and they’re busily buying gifts with a boy theme. There will be an awful lot if blue in their house.”

Another royal insider told the publication that Princess Eugenie has also been telling friends the baby is a boy.

While William and Kate have refused to officially divulge the sex of their baby there are a few hints the source’s sex gossip could be true.

Kate confirmed last week that she had purchased a “light blue” Bugaboo pram for the baby, and much was made of her first official maternity dress — a baby blue custom made Emilia Wickstead number.

Until now, many have believed the Duchess was expecting a girl after she accepted a teddy bear from a well-wisher saying: “Thanks, I will take that for my d…”

When asked if she was about to say “daughter”, Kate denied knowing the sex of the baby.

A little princess is still the bookmakers’ favourite, with the odds on a girl at 1/3 and odds of a boy 5/2.

Jen’s wedding under threat: Drug past shock

Jen's wedding under threat: Drug past shock

Her new family’s dark secrets have been revealed at the worst possible moment.

With her wedding to Justin Theroux already repeatedly delayed, the last thing Jennifer Aniston needed was to find her dream day embroiled in a drugs controversy. But the 44-year-old has discovered that a key player in her impending nuptials has some rather unflattering skeletons in the closet – and they’ve struck a chord with Jen, who’s never made a secret of her feelings about drugs.

It’s been revealed that her future husband’s handsome younger brother Sebastien – who’s been offered the top job as best man – has a history of addiction, including problems with alcohol, that has resulted in jail and court-ordered rehab stints.

“Jen is sympathetic to Sebastien’s struggles but it makes her uncomfortable, and she’s butting heads with Justin about how big a part he should play in proceedings,” a source tells US magazine Star. Court documents show that Sebastien, 24, was arrested in March 2010 for drink driving, possession of marijuana and fleeing the scene of an accident after he hit another car. He was also carrying a stun gun.

He was described by police as “extremely uncooperative” and having a “complete disrespect for authority”. A month later, Sebastien was again arrested for DUI. Now Jen’s worried about him playing such a big part in her wedding, say friends.

Seal explodes!

Seal explodes!

Backstage bust-ups, diva behaviour and a public meltdown from coach Seal are causing a stir for The Voice family.

There’s a crisis brewing behind the scenes of hit talent series The Voice. On the eve of the show’s live episodes, last year’s winning coach Seal is struggling with the turmoil in his private life, leading to an extraordinary on-stage outburst about his estranged wife Heidi Klum, the mother of his four children.

The Voice insiders say Seal’s explosion is a result of not only growing tensions with his ex-wife, but a new feud with mentor Connie Mitchell and the breakdown of his romance with Delta Goodrem. The addition of Ricky Martin, plus a reinvented Delta, and stressed-out contestants who know how high the stakes are after last year’s juggernaut, have made thisseason more emotionally charged than anyone could have predicted.

And it all reached boiling point last week in a shock outburst from Seal, 50, at his concert at Sydney casino The Star. After one crowd member yelled to Seal that he was “wonderful”, Seal responded by asking: “Do you really believe that though? You do? Do I believe him? I kind of do, but my ex-wife doesn’t… she doesn’t think I’m wonderful at all,” he bizarrely told the crowd before adding, “My kids do.”

Seal’s public rant comes days after the woman he was married to for seven years appeared to take her relationship with the couple’s former bodyguard Martin Kristen to the next level. The loved-up duo were spotted wearing matching rings on their right hands, which in Heidi’s native Germany is the hand on which engagement and wedding bands are worn. She has remained coy about the significance of the ring, saying only, “It is a gift from my friend.”

I took my sister’s child away from her

I took my sister's child away from her

Image: Thinkstock, posed by models

They say blood is thicker than water, and it’s true. I’ve always been there for my nephew James, and our relationship is one of the things I’m most proud of in life. We’ve battled together through some tough times, and I’m so glad he’s grown into such a confident young man.

If you met him today, you’d be surprised by what he has been through. James’s father disappeared the moment he was born and his mother Sharon, my younger sister was left to care for him on her own. Only 19 when she fell pregnant, our family abandoned her, except for me.

We fell in love with James the minute he opened his eyes. Although Sharon was scared, she swore she’d do everything in her power to raise him “the right way”. Unfortunately, those were just words. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when things began to crumble but I started to suspect Sharon was struggling.

She’d never have enough nappies and would let dirty dishes pile up for days. I reminded myself that this was probably typical for a first-time mum. I visited her and James twice a week and helped out with what I could. When James turned one, Sharon decided she would not return to work or study. I was shocked. Sharon had plans for university and now had no interest in getting that “serious job” she’d dreamed of. Then she met Peter, who was in his late 40s.

From the outset, Peter made it very clear he had no interest in being a father to James; he’d already raised his kids. Sharon accepted this, and he moved in within a month of them meeting. Peter was also a heavy drinker, and that’s when everything started to slide downhill. Peter parked himself on the couch for most of the day, chain-smoking and knocking back beers. Sometimes he was so spaced out he couldn’t hear James crying just feet away.

“You’ve got to say something,” I warned Sharon “I wouldn’t leave James alone with him.” Sharon looked ashamed and agreed that she’d talk to Peter about it. Six months later, Sharon was drinking nearly as much as him! They’d stay up all night and row; the police would arrive on their doorstep frequently. Now, I was visiting every day to make sure James was fed and changed.

I felt the situation was deteriorating by the day. Peter’s friends visited at all hours of the night to drink and party. A cloud of thick cigarette smoke hung permanently over poor James’s head. “This has to stop. You’re not a teenager anymore, you’re a mother!” I yelled at my sister while collecting the pieces of a broken bottle off the floor. It broke my heart again and again.

Sharon called me one day and begged me to take James to see a doctor. Fortunately, the doctor said James was a little dehydrated but other than that, he was quite healthy. I was incredibly relived, but things had to change. “I want James to come live with me,” I said to Sharon when I returned from the clinic, but it only made her angry. “You can’t do any better! Look at you! You don’t have any kids!” she hissed and kicked me out of her apartment.

I sat in the car and cried for over an hour. I’d never felt so helpless. For the next two weeks, I called Sharon every day and pleaded my case. She flat-out refused to let me even see James, and Peter threatened to “sort me out” if I ever showed up at their door. I was out of options and there was only one thing to do. I called the Department of Child Services. It was the most painful decision I’d ever had to make.

The reports from the police and the doctor helped my case, and James was placed in temporary foster care and, eventually, with me. Last I heard, Sharon and Peter were still together and they’d had a baby girl.

Sharon and I spoke briefly after James was placed in my care. She accused me of ruining her life. I feel sad for losing my sister, but I don’t regret my decision. Now James is a stunning 17-year-old boy with dreams of university, just like his mother. And I’ll continue to guide him, as I’ve done since day one, because that’s what family is about.

Exclusive: Kate’s shock birth plan!

Duchess Catherine goes baby shopping

The duchess surprises stuffy royal advisors, opting for a simple birth suite rather than five-star luxury.

Beyonce shut down an entire wing of a New York hospital when she had her daughter Blue Ivy. In Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow’s maternity ward, pampered mums give birth bathed in soft candlelight, then toast their new bub with champagne breakfasts.

But despite having access to the best medical care money can buy, the future king or queen of England will be born in a humble public hospital in the suburbs, if the Duchess of Cambridge has her way. In a move that came as a huge surprise to the royal family, especially their stiffly traditional advisors, Kate is reportedly determined to have her baby in a hospital close to her family home, rather than giving birth at exclusive St Mary’s, where her husband Prince William and brother-in-law Prince Harry were born. It’s believed the future heir to the throne will be born in Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, where Kate herself and younger sister Pippa were delivered.

While the palace has yet to confirm full details of the July birth, close friends of the duchess revealed to Woman’s Day that Kate had already planned to drastically break with tradition and spend the first six weeks after the birth with her mum and dad at their family home – making the Berkshire hospital a logical choice, given its proximity to their estate. Coincidentally or not, the midwife-led maternity unit at Royal Berkshire recently underwent a $4.5 million refit, so it is stocked with all the latest technology and amenities – fit for a future king or queen, some would say!

Still, the rooms themselves are simple and practical – like any standard maternity ward in the western world – and something of a contrast to the luxurious suites at St Mary’s in Paddington, where Kate would’ve been waited on hand and foot. “The facilities at private hospitals like St Mary’s are more like five-star hotels,” leading British obstetrician Dr Penelope Law tells Woman’s Day. “The mother and partner can order whatever food they like, and they are made very comfortable in a luxury suite.

Another MKR hot hook-up!

Another MKR hot hook-up!

Things could be heating up between MKR’s “super villain” Sophia and “nice guy” Chris.

She is one of the most hated women to ever appear on My Kitchen Rules but if social media is anything to go by, it looks like Sophia Pou may have won the heart of one of the show’s most loved competitors.

The 29-year-old has taken to Instagram to announce her apparent blossoming relationship with “nice guy” Chris Cavanagh, who entered the competition with his cousin “Smiley” Sam. Sophia has posted several happy snaps of the two together, the latest one tagged, “#cat is out of the bag.” Chris, 24, seemed to confirm their relationship by writing, “Our secret is out”, under a second pic Sophia posted of the pair.

When rumours first surfaced of a romance brewing on the set of My Kitchen Rules, all eyes turned to spunky personal trainer Scott Gooding and the show’s “bad girl” Sophia, who had formed a close relationship on-screen.

But the sparks between Scott and Sophia turned out to be platonic, with Sophia confirming her single status earlier this year. “I wouldn’t say I am looking for love per se – that makes me sound a little bit desperate!” she told Woman’s Day. “But I would be open to a nice man coming my way.” Seems like she might have found her perfect match on-set after all, in the form of easy-going Chris, who was a fan favourite throughout the series.

I’ve made half-a-million impersonating Britney Spears

I’ve made half-a-million impersonating Britney Spears

Spot the difference: Britney Spears and her lookalike Michaela Weeks.

Michaela Weeks hasn’t just made a living off looking like pop star Britney Spears, she has made a fortune.

In 2005, 17-year-old Michaela quit her job to become a full-time Britney lookalike – and her decision paid off. Her looks have earned her more than $450,000 since she started the impersonator gig.

Her new-found fortune allowed her to purchase her own house at 19 and a second three years later. She also owns a fleet of sports cars.

Michaela, now 25, charges more than $5000 per appearance, and tells the UK’s Daily Mail that she feels “very blessed” to look like Britney Spears.

“I bought my first house at the age of 19 when most people my age were living with their parents, working in Topshop and still going to college,” she says.

“The best part is that I’m a huge Britney fan – it would be awful if I had to impersonate someone I hated. If I ever get to meet her I just want to thank her for giving me this life and for looking so much like me.”

Her looks have also seen her travel the world on different assignments and work with other celebrities. She has even worked with renowned celebrity spoof photographer Alison Jackson.

Michaela first discovered her resemblance to Britney when the pop icon released her first single Baby One More Time back in 1998. Since then she’s constantly experienced people on the street screaming out, “Hey, there’s Britney!”

She decided to enter a lookalike competition. At first she didn’t make the cut, but she was called back a year later and won her category.

“I tried a bit of modelling after that but every time I tried to do something different people kept coming back to the Britney thing,” she says.

“In the end the pull was so strong I packed in my waitressing job and decided to give it a go full-time and I haven’t looked back since.”

With the help of a voice coach and a choreographer, Michaela put together a tribute act, but things went pear-shaped when Britney suffered her breakdown.

As Britney moved out of the limelight, Michaela’s jobs began to dry up and she and her partner soon fell behind on their mortgage repayments.

“It was a really difficult time and I began to feel desperately low and guilty for getting us into such a mess,” she says.

“I struggled to get regular work with the recession, and ended up working for agencies and doing odd jobs to try and keep up with the bills.

“The only proper job I’d ever had was being Britney and although I had a beauty qualification I had never put it to any use. I had nothing to fall back on.” Luckily, Britney made a comeback, releasing her fifth album Blackout in 2007.

“Work slowly started coming in again with odd appearances here and there, which helped towards the bills,” Michaela says.

“The more she did, the more work I started to get again and we started to get back on track.

“It was a really difficult time but I’m still so grateful for being able to do what I do, I feel really lucky to get to do such a cool job and something I really enjoy.”
