Is Jennifer Garner pregnant?

Jennifer Garner has stepped out with what appears to be a baby bump!

While she and husband Ben Affleck already have an adorable brood of children, it appears the pair may be adding to their family.

After the birth of their son Samuel, Jennifer revealed she wasn’t too keen on having more children, but her husband felt otherwise.

It looks like all the extra baby time has made the 39-year-old a bit clucky.

“The fact that Ben wants another is true,” she said. “I can tell you that would be a pretty uphill battle with me. I am not anticipating having any more kids!”

It looks like Ben may have got he wish for a big family!

Jennifer Garner sports a baby bump as she walks through LA with her husband Ben Affleck.

Jennifer has not confirmed or denied that the pair are expecting their fourth child.

Jeniifer stopped by the park with her children earlier this week.

Jennifer carries her 17-month-old son Samuel.

Dolly searched for more than just a model

The Original Dolly Model Search 2013 winner, Samantha Garza

The Original Dolly Model Search 2013 winner, Samantha Garza

After announcing the winner of the 2013 Original Dolly Model Search, the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief tells The Weekly why the nationwide competition now asks for more than height and weight measurements.

Yesterday 16 year-old Samantha Garza was announced the winner of The Original Dolly Model Search 2013, becoming an ambassador for the glossy teen title as well as signing with Chadwick Models.

In the second year of the revamped competition, Dolly Editor-in-Chief, Tiffany Dunk explains the title was looking for young girls who embody confidence, healthy attitudes and appeal to readers, with interests beyond just modelling.

“We wanted to find someone that they could relate to because you know the key thing is that teenage girls want to see girls who look like them in magazines. They’re really wanting to see themselves being represented in the media, which is why our model search is different”, she tells The Weekly.

Model searches and competitions run by both magazines and television stations nationwide have faced scrutiny in the past decade, which is one of the reasons Dunk decided Dolly’s search would have to change if relaunched.

In its second running year, the competition now includes positive body image workshops and the winner is awarded a twelve-month ambassadorship role, blogging for the title’s website as well as modelling.

“The teen mag world is very different to what it was at ten years ago, and we are much more responsible in the way that we represent girls within the magazine” she says.

“We don’t ask the girls anything about their physicalities. We don’t ask how tall they are, how much they weigh, what clothing size they wear.”

The 2013 judges, including Dunk met with over 6000 teenage girls this year and yesterday announced the winner at an intimate breakfast at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art.

“I think Samantha is a perfect example of a great role model for Dolly readers in that she’s smart and confident but she’s real”, says Dunk.

Last year — in relaunching the competition — the title was criticised for selecting a 13 year-old winner, Kirstie Thatcher, who was labelled ‘too young’ by various media outlets and protestors.

Dunk hopes the extra roles included in the ambassadorship will encourage winners to pursue interests beyond solely modelling, with Australian women such as Megan Gale now walking on both the catwalk and into boardrooms.

“There are a lot of models who big media organisations report on all the time whether it’s Megan Gale or Miranda Kerr or Jenifer Hawkins who are business women”, she tells The Weekly.

“Models do have a purpose too so what you can do or what you should be doing as someone who uses that service as part of your publication is representing it in a really responsible way and trying to make it as positive an experience as you can.”

What happens when you’re too big for plus-sized clothes?

What happens when you're too big for plus-sized clothes?

Nadine Newell founded her own plus-size maternity clothing label when she couldn't fit into existing brands.

When Sydney woman Nadine Newell found out she was pregnant she couldn’t wait to go shopping for a whole new maternity wardrobe, but her excitement quickly turned to horror when she realised that absolutely nothing fit. Why? Because, like 35 per cent of Australian women, Nadine is plus-sized and most maternity brands don’t stock anything bigger than a size 20.

“It was impossible, non-existent,” she said.

Store after store turned Nadine away. As the weeks passed, she was forced to look overseas, eventually finding some jeans on an American website.

They fit her perfectly until she was 20 weeks where she reached an impasse: find another source of clothing or go naked.

Thankfully her mother, who was handy with a needle and thread, offered assistance with the former option.

After a quick trip to Spotlight for some fabrics, Nadine had a whole new wardrobe that would see her through the second half of her pregnancy.

With a closet full of beautiful new clothes that actually fit, Nadine decided it was time for action. She didn’t want any other women to go through what she had been through and so her clothing range, Plus Maternity, was born.

The label, which Nadine has been running herself for two years, offers a wide range of maternity outfits which are designed, manufactured and packaged in Australia for women between the sizes of 18 and 28.

All patterns are cut to fit a plus-size woman, allowing more room in the bust, stomach and bottom area.

Nadine describes her clothing line as functional and versatile and provides casual and corporate pieces including sleepwear, swim wear and breastfeeding t-shirts.

“My big thing is to get five or six base pieces which you can mix and match in many ways, then your set,” Nadine said.

Besides running her clothing brand and website, Nadine enjoys spending time with her five-year-old daughter, Sahara, and believes in staying positive.

“You can only be the best you can be right now” she said.

As well as designing fashionable and comfortable maternity clothing for other plus size mothers-to-be, Nadine also runs a Facebook page which she uses to help provide positive information for women in the same situation.

Nadine is now a role model for other plus-size women, proving that pregnancy can be as easy and fashionable as smaller women make it look.

For more information and to view Nadine’s plus size maternity range you can visit the Plus Maternity website or check out her Facebook page for regular updates.

Stacy Kiebler talks Clooney split

Stacy Kiebler talks Clooney split

Stacy Kiebler has spoken out for the first time about her break up with George Clooney.

“There’s nothing really dramatic that happened,” she told Extra.

“It’s all good,” she assured the host.

The 33-year-old former wrestler was in LA to promote her new cooking show, Supermarket Superstar, but what everyone really wanted to know, was how her relationship with 52-year-old George ended earlier this month.

“I’m someone that’s always lived in the present moment,” she said.

“I always look at the positive on everything and I am so excited for all these projects that are coming up and I am super busy. It keeps my mind off of things.”

The pair reportedly split due to their long distance relationship with George based in Europe and Stacy based in LA, and hadn’t seen each other in a long time. “Some girls would be okay with that and just be happy dating George, but not her,” a source told Us Weekly .

Stacy also told reporters that she will remain friends with George, proving the break up was completely amicable.

Cory Monteith died from heroin and alcohol overdose

Cory Monteith died from heroin and alcohol overdose

An autopsy has revealed that Glee star Cory Monteith died from a “mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol”.

The post-mortem results by the British Columbia Coroners Service were released earlier than expected due to the high levels of public interest.

In releasing the finding, the coroner said there was no evidence of foul play: “It should be noted that at this point there is no evidence to suggest Mr Monteith’s death was anything other than a most tragic accident.”

Cory, 31, was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on Saturday. The actor had been open about his struggles with alcohol and substance abuse, and recently finished a month-long stint in rehab.

Meanwhile, Cory’s co-star and girlfriend, Lea Michele, is said to be mourning his death with his family. “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends and fans,” her representatives told People.

“Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them.

“They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together.”

Naked Hugh Jackman offends Japanese locals

Naked Hugh Jackman offends Japanese locals

Aussie heartthrob Hugh Jackman shocked locals at a Japanese spa after walking around naked for an hour with nothing but a beer in his hand.

The incident took place last year when Hugh, 44, took time out from filming his new movie, The Wolverine, to visit a traditional hot springs at the base of Mount Fuji.

The hunky actor didn’t realise the washcloth he was handed upon entry was a modesty towel to cover up his nether regions.

“The place is separated male and female and they hand you a towel, a small washcloth, and there are eight different types of tubs with heats of different temperatures,” says Hugh.

“I’m getting so hot and I’m using the towel they gave me to dip into the cold water and put it on my head and I was getting very strange looks from everybody.”

The Golden Globe-winner at first assumed the looks he was getting were due to being the only white person in the spa.

“I was feeling uncomfortable and finally this guy in the tub grunts and points to my head and then grunts and points to my private parts,” Hugh explains.

“Finally I realised the towel was meant to be covering my privates and I’d spent about an hour just waltzing around this place with this thing in one hand and a beer in my other!” .

While this little mishap may have outraged a few modest Japanese fans, we’re guessing it will do very little to harm his new film at the box office.

Smart money tips for the new financial year

It's time to hit the re-start button and get your financial affairs in order. Follow these six savvy tips to stop you treading water.
Brunette woman with notepad and pen

1. Wipe the slate clean

Re-do your household budget, so you know exactly what your income and expenses are for the next 12 months. The Government’s Money Smart website has a great online budget calculator which can help you crunch the numbers. The rule of thumb is to make sure you’re not spending more than you earn. Mark the due dates of all your bills on your calendar, so there are no surprises when they arrive in the letterbox. Start a ‘rainy day’ fund, so you have some money set aside for unexpected expenses.

2. Start planning for Christmas

Many budgets come unstuck because people fail to plan ahead for one of the most expensive times of the year — Christmas. Work out how much you expect to spend on gifts and food, and put aside a little money each month. If you’re planning to take a holiday at the end of year, start saving for it now, so you don’t have to put it on the credit card. Aim to pre-pay your accommodation before you go.

3. Be a ‘debt-buster’

Debt won’t just miraculously disappear — you need to have a strategy for paying it off. Get rid of ‘bad’ debt like credit cards first, as they usually have the highest interest rates. If you have several maxed-out credit cards, consider rolling all of the debt into one low interest card to save on interest and annual fees. Once bad debts are under control, you can then target other debts such as your car and home loan.

4. Get super smart

From this July, the Federal Government’s Super Guarantee has increased from 9 per cent to 9.25 per cent, however it is still a good idea to top up your super by salary sacrificing. According to recent statistics, the average super balance for women is just $33,804 and $49,723 for men, which is way below the recommended levels. Depending on how much you can afford, try to put another 2-5 per cent of your income into your super fund. Also if you have multiple super funds, consider consolidating them into a single account to keep fees to a minimum.

5. Protect your family

It’s not something anyone wants to think about, but you need to ask yourself how your family would cope financially if you or your partner were injured in an accident, became too sick to work, or passed away. Insurance doesn’t have to be a big drain on the budget. If cash flow is tight, you can get life insurance and income protection through your superannuation.

6. Set goals

While most of us are pretty good at saving for short-term goals such as our annual holiday, we often forget to put money aside for the future. Make sure you set some medium-term goals such as how much you want to reduce your home loan by over the next five years. Also plan for long-term milestones like saving for the kids’ education and your retirement nest egg. Review your goals at the end of the year to see how you’ve fared.
