‘Engaged’ Scarlett Johansson shows off huge diamond!

'Engaged' Scarlett Johansson shows off huge diamond!

It appears Scarlett Johansson is well and truly off the market!

A source has confirmed that the 28-year-old star is engaged to her beau, French journalist Romain Dauriac.

“They’re engaged and very happy,” a source told People magazine of the couple’s happy news.

Scarlett has been spotted wearing a beautiful vintage Art Deco style sparkler (see it in the video above) on her ring finger for the past month.

But despite Scarlett showing off her huge ring, a representative for the actress had no comment when asked of the star’s wedding plans.

Scarlett recently showed off the ring while promoting her new sci-fi movie Under the Skin at the Venice International Film Festival.

The actress has been spotted with diamond rings on her left hand for the past year, but had always passed it off saying it was “simply a piece of jewelry”.

Scarlett was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds, but their marriage lasted just two years.

Prince Harry’s escape from Taliban assassination attempt

Generals fired over Prince Harry kidnap attempt

Harry will see out his four month tour of Afghanistan despite threats and attacks

A new report reveals how Prince Harry escaped an assassination attempt by Taliban soldiers in Afghanistan last year.

The Prince was frantically whisked to safety during a raid on Camp Bastion — where the fourth-in-line was based during his three-month tour of duty — which claimed the lives of two United States Marine soldiers and destroyed or damaged up to eight aircraft.

The raid, which took place in September 2012, was also an assassination attempt on the Prince’s life.

A detailed description of the attack, published in the September issue of GQ, describes the complex assault that unfolded “under a moon-less night as the Taliban suicide squad approached the heavily guarded perimeter fence of the British military base”.

Camp Bastion had become a virtual city in the six years since its establishment. Home to 28,000 US and British service personnel, it was constantly under threat of attacks.

The arrival of Apache helicopter pilot Prince Harry prompted a new Taliban threat to kill or kidnap him.

“We have informed commanders in Helmand to do whatever they can to eliminate him,” a Taliban spokesman told the press.

The military had laughed off the threat saying it was “not a matter of concern”.

Four days after the threat was issued, the ‘battle of Bastion’ had begun with heavily armed soldiers entering the base at around 10pm and unleashing fire at the parked fighter jets, firing grenades, and launching a high scale attack on the secure camp.

British soldiers joined the attack, which evolved into a full blown ground assault, only after Prince Harry had been “stashed in a secure location”, the article says.

The Taliban claimed the attack was in response to the controversial film, ‘Innocence of Muslims’, and that Prince Harry was the target of the attack, but British officials say Prince Harry was never in any danger during the attack.

The total cost to the United States military, including evacuating Prince Harry, was $200 million, according to GQ.

Prince Harry vowed to see out his deployment in Afghanistan following the attack. He returned safely and continues to serve in the military.

She’s not even two weeks old yet but Alec Baldwin’s baby daughter has given her first TV interview.

Alec, 55, and wife Hilaria, 29, introduced newborn Carmen to the world in an interview on Extra TV last night.

Alec played the proud father in the TV segment, showering Carmen with kisses and gushing about how happy he is to be a father again.

“I am so lucky and blessed, all those things everybody feels when you have a baby and you want to have that family,” Alec said.

Alec said Carmen’s looks are changing daily but he hopes she ends up looking more like Hilaria than himself.

“I hope she looks like her mother,” he said. “What a waste of time it would be to marry a women like that and have the kid look like me.”

Hilaria gave birth to Carmen on August 24. It’s her first child and she is finding motherhood extremely satisfying.

“Honestly, it’s a dream come true,” she said. “Every single day I have trouble sleeping because I just want to look at her, and every single day you wake up and it’s Christmas.

“It’s a love that hurts. I want to make sure she’s okay, every single step of the way. It’s just absolutely indescribable.”

Alec has another daughter, Ireland, 17, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

People confirms that the 32-year-old voluntarily entered the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center on Wednesday morning, but had checked out by Thursday afternoon. He was later seen out and about in Los Angeles.

Kate and William take Prince George to meet Diana’s family

Prince George's Godparents announced

Kate and William will appear together at a charity gala next month.

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge paid a private tribute to Princess Diana on the anniversary of her death, introducing her grandson, Prince George, to members of her family.

The new parents spent the weekend with the late Princess of Wales’s eldest sister Lady McCorqudale with six-week-old baby George in tow, the Daily Express reports.

The three-piece Cambridge family were seen boarding a helicopter to travel to Lady Sarah’s farmhouse.

The visit coincided with their 16th anniversary of Diana’s death.

William is said to be especially close to his 58-year-old aunt who introduced Diana to his father, Prince Charles, and assumed an unofficial role of Diana’s lady-in-waiting.

The Prince and wife Kate are said to have made an effort to stay in touch with all of the Spencer relatives.

Last year, Kate and William both attended the wedding of Lady Emily McCorquodale, Lady Sarah’s oldest daughter, and one of the Spencer cousins William grew up playing with. Prince Harry also attended the wedding, though it is unclear whether he joined the family reunion at the weekend.

The young princes William and Harry tragically lost their mother aged 15 and 12 respectively, and William opened up about his grief in 2009 when he launched a campaign to raise awareness of child bereavement.

“Never being able to say the word Mummy again in your life sounds like a small thing,” he said.

“However, for many, including me, it is now really just a word — hollow and evoking only memories.”

On the day of her engagement to the prince in 2010, Kate said she would have “loved to have met her”.

“She’s obviously an inspirational woman to look up to,” she said.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones

Michael Douglas has insisted his split from wife Catherine Zeta-Jones is “temporary” denying rumours their 13-year marriage is in “crisis”.

Michael and Catherine announced they were “taking a break” from their marriage last week but when questioned about the split in Germany yesterday, Michael insisted their marriage was “fine”.

“I have a crisis at home?” he said. “No, I think the press has a crisis. We are fine. My wife and I are fine.

“We take a temporary separation but the press, it gives you stuff to write about.”

Michael was in Berlin promoting his Liberace biopic Behind The Candelabra.

Rumours the A-list couple’s marriage was in trouble have been swirling for months.

Michael, 68, and Catherine, 43, have not been pictured together in public for four months, making red carpet appearances separately and holidaying apart.

They have certainly been through a lot in recent years — Michael battled throat cancer in 2011 (which he controversially claimed he contracted through performing oral sex) and Catherine went through two highly-publicised stints in a treatment facility for bi-polar disorder shortly afterwards.

The couple married in a lavish ceremony at New York’s Plaza Hotel in 2000. They have two children, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10.

Harry loves Cressy: Prince’s girl lands society magazine cover

Harry loves Cressy: Prince's girl lands society magazine cover

Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas on the cover of Tatler.

She has only been dating Prince Harry for just over a year but Cressida Bonas has already landed the cover of a British society magazine.

Cressida appears on the October 2013 issue of Tatler — its “royal romance special” — with the cover line “Harry loves Cressy”.

Many royal watchers have taken the cover as confirmation Harry and Cressida’s relationship is serious.

“When upmarket magazine Tatler christens a royal relationship with a hallowed front cover, it means things are getting serious,” the Daily Mail’s Charlotte Griffiths said.

“Kate Middleton didn’t make the cover until 2011 — eight years after she began dating Prince William. But today, the relationship between Cressida and Harry has been branded official.”

Rumours Harry was planning to propose to Cressida have been swirling for months, but gained momentum recently when Harry whisked Cressida off on an African safari — just as his brother William did when he proposed to then Kate Middleton in 2010.

Kensington Palace — the London residence of Prince Harry, William, Kate, and baby George — is said to be holding dates for ‘an announcement’ later this year, fuelling rumours of a spring wedding for Harry and Cressida.

Prince Harry is said to be “very fond” of the 24-year-old dance student, according to friends, and they go to great lengths to keep their relationship private after his last flame reportedly fizzled out following reports ex-girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, was uncomfortable with the focus and attention that royal life brings.

Cressida, who comes from an aristocratic family, is said to be similarly uncomfortable in the royal spotlight and the couple are rarely photographed together.

They were spotted kissing on the ski slopes shortly after they started dating last July, and friends have described their relationship as a “full-on romance”.

Last month a friend of the couple told E! News Harry was convinced his blonde partner was “the one”.

“I would not be surprised if she’s the one he marries,” the friend said.

Meet Britain’s newest royal baby: Maud Windsor

Meet Britain's newest royal baby: Maud Windsor

Maud Windsor makes her debut on the cover of Hello! magazine.

She was born just three weeks after her world famous cousin Prince George — now Britain’s newest royal baby has made her photographic debut.

Maud Windsor, the first child of Lord Frederick Windsor and his actress wife Sophie Winkleman, was introduced to the world on the cover of Hello! magazine overnight.

Wearing a simple white lace dress, Maud cuddles her mother Sophie as proud father Freddie and his parents Prince and Princess Michael of Kent look on.

The shoot took place in the couple’s Hollywood home, where Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are on a week-long holiday to spend time with their first grandchild.

In the accompanying interview, Freddie explains why they chose the name Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina for their newborn.

“We liked the idea of an old-fashioned English name and there are a couple of Princess Mauds in my father’s family from a hundred years ago,” Freddie told the publication.

“It’s also a beautiful, elegant name and it was always our first choice. Elizabeth is a tribute to the Queen, Daphne is Sophie’s grandmother, who she was very close to and Marina is my paternal grandmother.”

Prince Michael, who is the Queen’s cousin, said he and his wife are “besotted” with the baby.

“We are absolutely thrilled by the arrival of our beautiful first grand-daughter, Maud,” he said. “We are both besotted with her. Not only does she have the prettiest blue eyes and adorable tiny feet, but she is also remarkably well-behaved.”

Sophie also spoke about her plans to introduce Maud to William and Kate’s new son Prince George, who is her third cousin once removed.

“Perhaps we’ll introduce the babies at Buckingham Palace for the Christmas lunch, that would be very sweet,” she said.

Maud is 42nd in line to the British throne, while George is third.

Freddie and Sophie, an actress who appeared on sitcom Two and a Half Men, married in a lavish ceremony at Hampton Court Palace in 2009.

They are currently living in LA where she is pursuing her acting career and he is working as a financial analyst.

The royal baby bonanza continues with another announcement of a royal baby on the way.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her husband Christopher O’Neill announced today they were expecting their first child.

The royal family’s newest arrival is due to arrive in March next year.

The news was announced on the royal family’s official facebook page and website by Palace officials who said no changes would be made to Madeleine’s engagements and charity work in the fall of 2013.

“Princess Madeleine and Mr. Christopher O’Neill are delighted to announce that The Princess is expecting their first child,” an announcement from the Royal court said.

“The birth is expected to take place in [the] beginning of March of 2014.”

The new royal arrival will be third in line to the throne.

Princess Madeleine, 31, wed her 39-year-old financier husband in a lavish ceremony in Stockholm in June of this year.

The pair met in New York in 2011 and announced their engagement the following year.

‘Tis the season for royal arrivals, with the latest announcement following a string of new heirs delivered, or shortly due, to the British royals.

In addition to the birth of Prince George to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge in July, William’s cousin Zara Phillips is expecting her first child in the new year.

Prince George will also have a fellow royal playmate in Kensington Palace with the first grandchild of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, baby Maud, arriving last month.
