William and Kate planning $100k per table housewarming party

William and Kate planning $100k per table housewarming party

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

They’ve been in their new Kensington Palace apartment for less than a week but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are already planning their first lavish dinner party.

The couple will host a glamorous $100,000-a-table charity gala in the Palace’s State Apartments in October 24.

The dinner will be in honour of 100 Women in Hedge Funds, a charity which counts William, Kate and Harry as patrons, and all proceeds will go to Action on Addiction, one of Kate’s handpicked causes.

The event will be the first of many to be hosted at William and Kate’s new home with UK newspapers heralding it as the beginning of “a new era of the court of KP”.

“This is their home now and this is where their court will be for a very long time,” an aide told The Daily Express.

Now that they’re in their new digs, Kate and William’s social diary is filling up quickly. On November 26, they will host a winter wonderland themed party in the palace’s garden in aid of Centrepoint, a homeless charity famously patronised by Princess Diana and close to her son William’s heart.

William and Kate moved into the Palace’s 21-room Apartment 1A last week when the year-long renovations were finally completed.

Prince Harry will now move into Nottingham Cottage, the two-bedroom house on the grounds of the Palace that William and Kate called home after their 2011 wedding.

Kris and Bruce are worth $125m, but there’s no prenup

Kris and Bruce Jenner are worth $125 million but don't have a prenup

The pair were spotted at a meeting together in LA yesterday.

Kris and Bruce Jenner say they are “much happier” living apart, but there’s one small problem: the pair, who is worth $125 million, never signed a prenuptial agreement.

While Kris ensured all of her daughters’ financial futures were secure with strict prenups, she and Bruce had never set one up for themselves.

The estranged couple announced their split yesterday after 22 years of marriage and months of separation speculation.

The pair, who has been living apart for months, was spotted arriving separately for a meeting together yesterday in Los Angeles following the announcement.

Both seemed to be in good spirits, but while 57-year-old Kris wasn’t wearing her wedding ring, Bruce continued to wear his.

“Kris is happy, I’m happy. Nobody is filing for divorce. Kris has her own place and I have my own place. There’s no animosity. Everything is good,” the 63-year-old former Olympian told People.

He’d also announced the pair wasn’t planning on dating or starting any new relationships.

“No! We’re not going there. I have my family, I have my kids. All my time is filled.”

While the duo isn’t heading for a divorce just yet, there will come a time when their $125m fortune will need to be divided, and Bruce is legally entitled to half of the Kardashian empire that Kris has built up over the years.

“This is going to be a very bitter pill for Kris to swallow, because when the divorce is finalised, she’ll have to split half the family fortune with Bruce,’” a source told Radar online.

“Kris demanded that her daughters Kim and Khloe get prenups, but in a touch of irony, she didn’t get one when she married Bruce.”

Kris has a huge fortune flowing in and receives 10 per cent for her daughters’ massive deals, including their Kardashian Kollection for Sears, an OPI nail polish endorsement agreement, and QuickTrim ads.

She also recently secured a deal for more than $40 million for three more seasons of the family reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians – a deal that was made without Bruce’s knowledge.

“I don’t follow any of that stuff. The girls are into the money thing. Honestly, a couple days ago I was watching the news and then this ticker comes across the screen saying, ‘Kardashians sign a new deal’ and I was like, ‘We did? That’s kind of nice’,” Bruce said at the time.

The pair also owns a mansion in Hidden Hills worth several millions and a collection of luxury cars.

While Bruce made over $100 million back in the 80s through numerous endorsement deals, it was never expected that the Kardashian brand would outdo his earnings.

“As the Kardashian brand and fortune grew, Bruce joked to Kris that she should have gotten a prenup so he couldn’t take anything from her,” the source said.

“To say Kris is obsessed with money is an understatement. He’ll probably ask that she just buy him out… which Kris won’t want to do because it means spending her own money.

“If they end up divorcing, one thing is certain – Kris is not going to part with a penny more than she has to.”

Kate ruffles royal feathers: William’s family not invited to George’s christening

Kate ruffles royal feathers: William's family not invited to George's christening

Prince Andrew (left) and Princess Anne (right) are reportedly not invited to Prince George's christening.

William and Kate have reportedly ruffled some royal feathers by leaving several important family members off the guest list for their son Prince George’s christening.

William’s aunts Princess Anne and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and his uncles Prince Andrew and Prince Edward will not attend the highly-anticipated October 23 event, the UK’s Daily Mail has reported.

The Duke and Duchess are said to be keen to keep the event an “intimate, family affair”, which is reflected in their decision to break with royal tradition and have George christened at the Chapel Royal in St James’s Palace because it is smaller and “more personal” than Buckingham Palace.

The full guest list of the event will not be revealed until closer to the day, but great-grandparents the Queen and Prince Philip and grandparents Prince Charles and Camilla and uncle Prince Harry are expected to be invited.

Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton and her siblings Pippa and James will also be there.

William and Kate’s choice of godparents for their first-born has also not been revealed. The baby will have six godparents and Harry and Pippa are both hot favourites, as well as William’s longest-serving advisor Jame Lowther-Pinkerton, friend Thomas van Straubenzee and former nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke.

It will be business as usual for the royals who aren’t invited. Princess Anne will be on an official tour of Canada, while Sophie will undertake several royal engagements in the West Country.

Discount Duchess: Shop owners reveal Kate loves a bargain

Discount Duchess: Shop owners reveal Kate loves a bargain

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge.

She earned the nickname “Thrifty Kate” for her high street fashion choices, but it has recently emerged that the Duchess of Cambridge’s love of bargain-hunting extends beyond the wardrobe.

The owner of a Norfolk antique shop, where Kate has been known to pick out a few pieces to furnish her and Prince William’s nearby Georgian country home on the Queen’s Sandringham estate, told Tatler magazine the 31-year-old royal had visited the store, and asked for a discount.

Owner of the Old Stables shop, Caroline Combe, revealed Kate visited her store “when quite pregnant”, and remarked on how she noticed the casually dressed Duchess’s “thin legs in her willies”.

“She was looking at various things and asked for a discount,” she said.

Noting that the then mum-to-be was furnishing a 10-bedroom home in Anmer Hall, where the Duchess, Prince William, and baby Prince George will spend time on the Queen’s estate, the shop owner said she approved of Kate’s request for a price cut.

“Of course, she’s got a big house to do up,” she said.

“But I love her for asking.”

The shop owner’s husband revealed Prince William accompanied his wife as she went antiquing, and described it as a typical husband and wife shopping trip — complete with a “bored stiff” husband waiting in the car.
