Look out ladies! Harry and Philip out together

Prince Philip and Prince Harry opening London's Field of Remembrance yesterday.

Their cheeky sense of humour often sees them in the Queen’s bad books and they rarely say the right thing but that didn’t stop Prince Philip and Prince Harry from carrying out their first joint engagement yesterday.

Harry, 29, joined his 92-year-old grandfather to open the Field of Remembrance at London’s Westminster Abbey.

They spent nearly an hour meeting returned servicemen from the Royal British Legion as they were led around the 100,000 crosses that have been planted in memory of soldier who lost their lives in battle.

Both men were dressed dashingly in official dress coats, but Harry really stood out from the crowd with his large red ceremonial collar.

Philip opens the Field of Remembrance every year but this is the first time he has been joined by Harry.

The younger royal’s presence sparked speculation he could be poised to take over the annual duty as Philip’s advancing age forces him to cut down the number of engagements he carries out each year.

William and Catherine planning return to Anglesey

William and Catherine planning return to “beloved” Anglesey

They only left a month ago, but royal insiders say Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge are already missing the quiet country life they led in Anglesey.

The couple are said to be planning a return to their beloved hideaway and have been making discreet inquiries about visiting the secluded farmhouse they rented during William’s three-year search and rescue posting at the nearby RAF base.

William gave up his role as a helicopter pilot to begin duties as a full-time royal not long after the birth of his first child, Prince George.

William and Catherine are currently preparing to move into Princess Margaret’s former home at Kensington Palace, which recently underwent a $1.9m renovation, but they continue to have a strong love for the place they called home together before they wed.

The five-bedroom farmhouse, which has its own private beach, is affectionately referred to as “their beloved Anglesey” by William’s private secretary, Miguel Head.

“After the relative freedom of living pretty undisturbed as a couple in Wales, William dislikes the proximity of so many neighbours at Kensington Palace,” a source told the UK’s Daily Mail.

“A bolthole in a place they know so well has definite appeal.”

Royal biographer Michael Thornton, who lives in Anglesey, said there’s speculation in the town that William and Catherine could be back soon.

“Rumours are flying about the possibility of the Cambridges acquiring a home on the island,” he said.

“I have heard they are interested in buying the farmhouse.”

Says a friend: “Royals rarely buy properties but they could rent again.”

Marion and Tabitha, four, have started developing their own style despite often wearing matching outfits.

“They pick out their own clothes every single day. They won’t listen. I just provide the clothing and a lot of those dresses they wear are from my childhood or my niece’s young childhood,” their mum told People.

“We tell them nothing. We just give them the temperature outside and if they don’t pick enough clothing, then we say, “You need leggings or pants. You need to add something so you’ll be warm enough.” That’s all they would listen to.”

Debenhams has rolled out “real size” mannequins in all 170 of its stores after a successful trial in its flagship London store in 2010.

The curvaceous figurines will model the store’s latest fashions alongside a diminished number of more traditional size 10 models.

“The average British woman is a size 16, but the high street has been showing them clothing on a mannequin that is three sizes smaller, until now,” Debenhams director Ed Watson said.

“Having working on this project for three years, we hope that it will help people in some small way to feel comfortable about their bodies and, crucially, that other retailers will follow.”
