Rebecca Judd has shared some intimate selfies of her growing baby bump as she prepares to welcome her second child with AFL superstar Chris.

Rebecca’s bub is due in early February and she has been keeping the public up to date with her pregnancy in a series of Instagram updates.

“Wouldn’t mind sharing my birthday with bub #getoutplease,” the brunette beauty recently wrote on a poolside bikini selfie.

In another snap, Rebecca is seen posing in the pool with two-year-old son Oscar. She captioned the shot: “Oscar not quite sure how to react to the imminent arrival of a peculiar looking thing in mummy’s tummy? #whoahthatsbig.”

Rebecca doesn’t seem to have gained any baby weight, maintaining her incredibly slim figure despite being almost nine months pregnant.

The model, who shot to fame after she wore a plunging dress to the 2004 Brownlow Medal presentation, has been busy preparing for her bub by teaming up with Target to showcase her baby buys on her blog, Rebecca Judd Loves.

The 30-year-old’s baby booty included mostly unisex swag as the Melbourne-based family have chosen to keep the sex of their child a surprise.

Princess Michael of Kent labels Royals ‘boring’

The Princess Michael of Kent

Princess Michael of Kent has launched a bizarre broadside at the Royal family, branding some of her relatives as “a bit boring” and describing the late Princess Diana as uneducated.

The Princess, who has been married to Prince Michael, the Queen’s cousin, since 1978, made the comments during an interview with disgraced media tycoon Conrad Black to promote her latest historical novel on Canadian TV.

When asked about Prince William and Kate, she said: “Of course we’re thrilled to have a beautiful young married couple with a baby.”

“Let’s hope there are more marriages soon because I think to have that young generation is terribly good for the people. The people love to see happy young people and I think the older generation are a bit boring for most people.”

Princess Michael went on to say that she used to live next door to Princess Diana at Kensington Palace.

“I must say I was very fond of her, very attached to her. She had an enormous amount of goodness in her,” Princess Michael said.

“Like probably many people of little education who find themselves, like pop stars or film stars, suddenly lauded by the whole world, it is very difficult if you have not had a mother bringing you up who was quite stern and strict. She did not have a mother bring her up and she did not have much education, so it is much harder to cope with eulogy.”

“She had her two sisters but they were doing their own thing and she was the youngest and on her own, and her mother went to Australia when she was 10 years old or something and that is tough. Sarah Ferguson had the same thing. Her mother went off to Buenos Aires when she was very young.”

Princess Michael, who was promoting her latest historical novel The Queen of Four Kingdoms, has a history of making headline-grabbing comments.

Why I support live cattle exports and you should too

Farming family: Jane and Haydn Sale and their kids Gus and Tilly.

Farming family: Jane and Haydn Sale and their kids Gus and Tilly.

In 2008, heavily pregnant with her second child and with an 18-month-old son in tow, Jane Sale moved bush.

Proper bush. Not some dainty weekend retreat in the country, but to the outback – a cattle station in remote north-western Australia.

There was no running water. No electricity. No house. Jane and her husband Haydn had moved to a place where they were completely disconnected from the modern world.

“We celebrated each victory as it came: the water, the electricity, the phone, the Internet … the house!” she says.

The Sales own three vast plots of land – Yougawalla, Bulka and Margaret River Stations – which have a combined acreage of 2.5 million acres, around the same size as Lebanon.

Business was going well for the Sales until the Live Export ban hit them in 2011.

“We had no notice of the decision,” she says. “Suddenly our business ground to a halt, and we didn’t know when or how it was going to start again.

“Our cattle provide over 4.5 million meals to Indonesia every year, and there was nothing wrong with our standards of care, nor of the feeding lots we use in Indonesia, so the reaction by the government seemed quite extreme.”

While the Live Export Ban lasted just a month, Jane says the ramifications for family businesses like hers are still lingering, two-and-a-half years later.

“Indonesia was totally offended by Australia’s ban, and things are only just returning to normal now,” she says.

“We looked like bad people to do business with – our industry was unable to provide a product that had been promised.”

Just a month after the shock of the Live Export Ban, Jane was severely mauled by a bull on her property.

Jane’s husband Haydn explains that a cleanskin (or wild) bull joined a herd that were being mustered by his wife.

“A bull had smashed a gate off its hinges … and attacked her, smashing her against the fence, continually throwing her in the air and partially scalping her. Her skin was slashed right across the forehead and all the way to the back of her head.”

Haydn had to fly Jane to hospital, where she was transferred to Broome for emergency surgery. Despite her horrific injuries, Jane’s surgery was a success, and she was back working on the farm, and looking after her two kids, Gus and Tilly, within weeks.

“After the Live Export Ban and my recovery, a group of us got together and decided we had to do something about the image of our industry,” Jane says.

“We flew to Indonesia to see how the cattle were treated in the feedlots and abattoirs, and honestly, I couldn’t be prouder of the way the animals are handled.”

On returning home, Jane started a blog about life on remote stations that is hosted by a different family every week.

“We want to set people’s minds at ease,” she says. “We haven’t told our stories well enough – we are busy people working long days – but our stories need to be heard.

“People get this idea that we are tough – we are emotionally tough, I suppose – but we are real people who genuinely care about what we do.”

Central Station tells the stories of different outback families, all struggling against tough conditions in outback Australia.

Jane is passionate about what she does, and says she gets a real sense of achievement from her work.

“I am adventurous – you have to be to live out here – and I am proud of what we do,” she says. “While Live Exports seem controversial, it is seriously the best boat ride a cow could have – and I don’t want our industry to be judged on the actions of a few.”

Parents blast ‘pornographic’ Beyoncé

Shame on Beyoncé as concerned parents attack Beyoncé’s provocative Grammy’s performance.
Beyonce at the Grammy's 2014

In a show broadcast to millions, the reigning Queen of Pop appeared on stage in a barely-there leotard over a sheer black body stocking and structured corset.

Flicking her damp hair in a series of provocative dance moves, the singer was joined on stage by her husband, Jay-Z, for part of the performance.

The pair cavorted in a sensual manner and shared a tender kiss in front of the screaming live audience – but not everyone was happy about the risqué routine.

The show aired in a prime-time slot on US television and during its broadcast, many viewers took to social media, comparing Bey’s dancing with Miley Cyrus’s infamous twerking at the VMA’s.

While Beyoncé is often held up as symbol of female empowerment and looked up to by little girls the world over, some concerned parents chose to share their shock about her salacious recital on social media.

“#Grammys2014 total shame from #BeyonceAtGrammys… parents we have to think twice about watching the #Oscars live with the kids” tweeted one upset viewer.

“#BeyonceAtGrammys Beyoncé REALLY?? Wow disappointed in your lack of taste. Did your daughter see you” another user commented.

But while some found the performance “tasteless” and “pornographic” many thought that the singer was simply cementing her reputation as a strong and progressive female performer.

Grammy viewers were very vocal about their appreciation for the artist, including many celebs sitting in the audience.

“BEYONCE you aren’t even a woman anymore you are the world and you are the lord … When Beyonce giggles un-self consiously in front of the whole music industry it’s pretty clear she’s surpassed the earthly plane,” tweeted GIRLS creator, Lena Dunham.

“Beyoncé is sexxxy! @Davidburtka said, ‘She could turn a gay man straight!’ Now I’m worried …” wrote openly gay actor, Neil Patrick Harris about his partner’s reaction to the show.

Beyoncé has previously discussed her philosophies about balancing being a mother to her two-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, and being a sexy performer.

“I don’t at all have any shame about being sexual and I’m not embarrassed about it and I don’t feel like I have to protect that side of me because I do believe that sexuality is a power that we all have,” said the singer in a behind the scenes interview for her recent self-titled album.

“You can have your child and you can still have fun and still be sexy and still have dreams and still live for yourself.”

Peter Cosgrove named Australia’s next Governor-General

The highly decorated military officer succeeds Quentin Bryce as the Queen’s representative in Australia, and becomes the country’s 26th Governor-General.

General Cosgrove, 66, said he was “truly humbled” by the appointment, and would do his best “to be a governor-general for every part of the community.”

“My approach to this job will be, of course, as I’ve approached all those times when I’ve been asked to serve Australia,” he said, as his wife Lynn stood beside him.

“It will get my total commitment, all the energy I’ve got, good humour and with an unfailing optimism that this is a great nation which will only get better.”

General Cosgrove also thanked Lynn for her support during their 37-year marriage. The couple has three adult sons.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott made the announcement in Canberra earlier today, paying tribute to General Cosgrove’s military background and said he would discharge his new responsibilities with “vigour and integrity”.

“Throughout his life he has demonstrated a commitment to our country and a commitment to service,” Mr Abbott said.

“I am confident that in this new role he will continue to deliver to a grateful nation leadership beyond politics.

“I am confident that … Peter will discharge his responsibilities with confidence and integrity.”

The Prime Minister thanked Ms Bryce – Australia’s first female Governor-General – for her “grace and distinction” while holding the distinguished position. Her five-year tenure ends in March.

During her time in office, Ms Bryce met thousands of Australians, visited dozens of countries, hosted scores of foreign dignitaries, and represented Australia at the Royal Wedding in London in 2011.

General Cosgrove, who was named Australian of the Year in 2001, is a popular choice to replace Ms Bryce as Governor-General.

The highly-decorated Vietnam War veteran became Chief of the Army in 2000 and was appointed Chief of the Defence Force in 2002, a role he filled until his retirement from active service in 2005.

General Cosgrove first came to prominence in 1999, when he was in charge of international peacekeeping forces in East Timor and oversaw the country’s transition to independence. In 2006, following the devastation of Cyclone Larry, he lead the taskforce to rebuild communities in far-north Queensland.

In more recent years he has worked as Chancellor of the Australian Catholic University and as a board member of Qantas and the Australian Rugby Union.

Best-dressed at the 2014 Grammy Awards

See what the celebs wore as the stepped out on music’s night of nights.

The music industry’s biggest stars hit the red carpet at the 56th Grammy Awards on Sunday, and as usual, there were plenty of looks that rocked and frocks that shocked on display.

While the show may be centred around celebrating music there is no denying that fashion plays a pivotal role for the performers who are dressed to impress on the night … and boy did some of these musical maidens dazzle!

Beyoncé was her standard bootylicious self in a show-stopping sheer gown while Katy Perry hit all the right notes in a whimsical Valentino Haute Couture creation. Taylor Swift was also on trend in a metallic chain mail frock which flattered her slender figure.

Among the fashion hits, there were of course misses. Madonna’s flared tuxedo and top hat ensemble, which came complete with a walking cane, was less than tasteful but we did love the fingerless diamond studded gloves.

Here are some of the celebs who tried to put their best stilettoed foot forward on the Grammy red carpet this year.

Katy Perry, Giuliana Rancic and Beyonce rocked the red carpet.

Beyoncé was definitely best dressed! The Queen of Pop flashed her flesh in this sizzling sheer floral gown.

Giuliana Rancic was a tangerine dream in this gorgeous Alex Perry creation.

Katy Perry’s Valentino couture certainly hit the high notes.

New Zealand singer Lorde’s Grammy wins ensured she picked up the best accessories on the night.

Veteran rocker Stevie Nicks kept it simple in black.

Kelly Osbourne wore her signature black in this bejewelled shoulder look.

It’s a brave woman to rock a frock similar to Beyoncé’s but Paris Hilton flaunted her skin in a strikingly similar gown.

Actress Anna Faris kept her look simple and chic in this navy number.

Taylor Swift shimmered in this metallic figure-hugging frock.

Pink showed of her feminine side in a fitted red strapless gown.

Country crooner Martina McBride played it safe in this black gown.

Actress Anna Kendrick showed some leg in this silver number.

Fashionista Louise Roe looked uber chic in this leather look.

Beige leather was an interesting choice from musical maiden Skylar Grey.

New mum Amber Rose showed off her curves in this gold gown.

Aussie raptress Iggy Azalea looked innocent in all white.

Madonna’s mafia look mystified many.

Rita Ora might have a gown that shimmered but perhaps she didn’t shine among the star-studded crowd.

Sports Illustrated favourite Chrissy Teigen shined as she attended the awards on the arm of her hubby, John Legend.

Alicia Keys showed of her sexy lady lumps in this cobalt blue gown.

Ciara showed off her bejewelled baby bump in this glittering gown.

Robin Thicke’s other half Paula Patton looked a million bucks in this structured animal print ensemble.

Wanted: ‘Enthusiastic’ maid to run Queen Elizabeth’s bath

The Queen is seeking a new housemaid, whose duties will include dusting her collection of priceless antiques and running her bath.
Queen Elizabeth

The job, which pays $525 a week, is an odd mix of mundane cleaning tasks and more unusual and glamorous roles – the successful applicant could be cleaning some of Buckingham Palace’s 78 bathrooms one day and helping a visiting monarch dress for dinner the next.

Key tasks are listed as: “personal maiding/valeting for guests and senior royals as required including packing and unpacking, pressing and preparing clothes, arranging dry cleaning, care of jewellery, running baths, assisting with dressing if required and arranging the service of tea and breakfast trays.”

Cleaning windows and changing light bulbs are also key responsibilities, though the listing neglects to mention the palace has some 760 windows and 40,000 bulbs.

In addition to housekeeping experience, discretion is essential, as is the ability to use initiative and a “motivated, proactive attitude”.

Accommodation is included in the package but applicants must be willing to travel to other royal residences, such as Balmoral or Sandringham, for up to three months of the year.

Star Wars stars to reunite for new film

Star Wars stars Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher to reunite for new film
Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill in the original Star Wars film in 1977

Carrie Fisher confirmed that she, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill will reprise their Star Wars roles, seen here in 1977

Ford, aged 71, is believed to be joining original cast members Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill, now 54, to bring their much-loved characters back to the big screen when the long-awaited Star Wars: Episode VII, begins shooting within weeks.

Star Wars: Episode VII has been veiled in secrecy and rumours over the years, but Fisher recently hinted that Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia will soon be reunited on screen, three decades after they last battled Darth Vader in a galaxy far away.

“I’d like to wear my old [cinnamon buns] hairstyle again – but with white hair,” Fisher, now 57, joked to TV Guide of Leia’s famous braided hairstyle. “I think that would be funny.”

Fisher is expected to return to work alongside Hamill and Ford, whose action hero status was further cemented by his post-Star Wars starring role in the Indiana Jones trilogy, when the film begins shooting in March.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who made the TV series Lost and the most recent Star Trek movie. Abrams recently confirmed the script for the seventh film in George Lucas’ epic sci-fi series has been completed.

“We’re working really hard and we’ve got our script and we’re in deep prep. Full steam ahead, y’know,” he said during a recent appearance at the Television Critics Association.

Abrams said details of the new Star Wars film, which is not expected to hit cinemas until 2015, are so secret that the windows of his production company office in Los Angeles have been blacked out so nobody can take a peek.

Other rumoured cast members of Star Wars: Episode VII include Australian actor Hugo Weaving, who appeared in the Matrix films, Michael Fassbender, and Girls actor Adam Driver.
